Beers Coimbra: Samba Sundays Done Right
Yesterday, we stumbled into pure magic at Beers in Coimbra for their Samba Party. From 4 to 8 PM, the upstairs was alive with music, dancing, and infectious energy thanks to a phenomenal live band. The place was packed, but in the best way—everyone moving, smiling, and soaking up the rhythm.
The setting? Absolutely perfect. Beers overlooks the Mondego River, and with the sun glistening off the water, it felt like a postcard moment come to life. The warm weather made it the ideal backdrop for a Sunday afternoon well spent.
And let’s talk drinks: their Caipirinhas are hands-down the best I’ve had in Portugal so far—strong, so sip wisely, but absolutely worth it. We also grabbed chicken wings and fries, and both hit the spot—crispy, flavorful, and perfect for soaking up the cocktails.
What really stole the show though? The music and vibe. If you ever get the chance to visit Beers during one of their live music events, don’t miss it. It’s the kind of afternoon that stays with you long after...

I asked an employee if they were short-staffed. He said they were. So, OK, things happen. Then a cook delivered a hamburger to our table by accident. Whoops. We sipped on our waters and chatted for another 15 minutes. Finally, my sandwich arrived an hour after ordering. Birthday girl’s salad? Not so fast! I finally stood up and yelled at the staff, I was so angry. My wife’s salad suddenly appeared. No apologies for slow service. No warning from the start that they were...
Read moreWe sat at a table outside, beside a door staff were coming and going through constantly. We waited over 15mins without anyone coming over. Finally we stopped one of the staff walking by. The drinks were small and over priced for what you get. We had planned to stay out for a few drinks but left after the one. We waited with empty glasses for awhile, decided to give up. Even paying was difficult as we couldn't get anyone's attention for ages. Standing at the bar waiting but they just walked past. We saw multiple tables leave without ordering. They are clearly so busy they don't care about loosing a few customers. Wouldn't recommend here no customer service. Much nicer places close by. You are paying for the location but it's...
