I have been here 3 times. I understand that they choose to use expensive coffee beans, which allows them to charge 3,50€ (the most expensive coffee I have had on the island). Considering that there are many coffee shops around that charge much less, I wouldn’t recommend buying coffee here (I am a former barista working in Canary Wharf, London). Additionally, if you choose to pay for an iced latte, be mindful that they use 80ml glasses for this, and add ice. The same applies to iced tea and kombucha.
The food is nice, and cannot fault. The staff also nice. However, my second visit they forgot to give me avocado in my meal which had 5 ingredients. The third time I visited, they forgot to give me the maple syrup for the pancakes. So having to get up twice from my meals has not been a pleasant experience.
The music on the top floor is far too loud. If you choose to sit outside, it is also very loud due to constructions which will persist for a few more Years as there are building 6 residential building opposite. The chairs and tables also collect dust from the construction, and so will your food and drink.
The chairs inside are very uncomfortable. This is not a place where you can work from due to the lack of comfort, and loud noises.
I have lived here for a year now, and have only chosen to leave 2 reviews due to sub-standard experiences. This is one of them.
Not sure whether all of the reviews are legitimate on Google considering that this is the first non 5 star review since this...
Read moreAs far as food presentation is concerned is very beautiful. The same happens with the establishment decoration. Moreover, the waiters were polite all the time. However, the waiting time passed an hour only for a quick brunch. I hate to say but what I ordered (pancakes) didn’t taste like it was made at the moment but instead heated on a microwave. Even though, it was still normal but a bit dry.
In the case of coffee, nothing to comment. It was normal (macchiato and americano). In addition to that, I think that the price was a bit expensive for what was offered. I can’t comment if any other food is accurate for its price since I didn’t eat them, but it didn’t seem to be. Prices were really high given a basic launch bought in any other cafe around.
Overall, it’s a normal cafe to hang out occasionally if you like to drink coffee in a relaxing local but if you are willing to eat, be prepared because it might be a bit expensive.
Edited: Thank you for the clarification, surely I’ll be delightful to give it another chance....
Read moreDuring my recent visit to Madeira, I stumbled upon a true culinary and creative haven: Art Food Corner. This charming establishment seamlessly blends delectable cuisine with an artistic ambiance, resulting in an unforgettable experience that left me thoroughly impressed.
They have a specialty coffee bean store, also selling beans from a local Madeira Roastery. The guys were so nice, they helped me choose the best variety for filter coffee at home, and also ground the beans for me.
The menu boasts a wonderful fusion of flavors, blending local ingredients with creative culinary techniques. I had the pleasure of trying several dishes, each of which was a delightful journey for the taste buds. The food was incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. It was evident that great care went into crafting each plate. If you're on the hunt for an unforgettable meal that's as much a work of art as it is a culinary delight, Art Food Corner is the...
