Castelo dos Hamburguers — Restaurant in Funchal

If you're a tourist you are probably not going to like this or even get it!!!

This is a place adored by the locals, like me, but it's not for everyone. Their menu is very close, you go there to get just that. Don't expect a typical burger place. I really like it and have so many good memories from this place but I feel the tourists should be warned. I see a lot of unjustified criticism just because this place is not like everywhere else. Please, save your criticism if you don't have the context or understand the history of this place. Was excited for this place after reading all the reviews, its true the milkshakes are pretty great, I had a peanut one and a mango one and would recommend both. The burger itself was ok, I had expected more but it's a solid burger and for the price you certainly cant complain.

I wouldn't get the hotdog, its really messy and just not as good as the burger, if you're really hungry just get a second burger.

Definitely not worth the trouble of going up there for that burger. Maybe was worth it before when it was a LOT cheaper, but now is priced like any other prego-burger in the center, and not by any means better.
