Fun location on the Lido Promenade for tasty pizza and salad. Since we'd already had drinks at lunch and an afternoon cocktail, we chose bottles of water with our meal. The waiter brought wee shots of Poncha and I have to say it was quite good. I've tried quite a few on the island and they vary from very good to less than desirable. I'd recommend theirs and would order it next time. The mixed salad had lots of variety and was large enough to share. After walking more than a dozen miles, we were starving and each ordered a small pizza, but realized we could've shared one or even a medium size. Great crust and tasty toppings. Fantastic water views and a perfect outside spot for people watching. I'd recommend this local favorite. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.5 stars

Papa Manuel Lido Restaurant & Pizzería is a superb choice for a relaxed meal. The place was lively during the Portugal vs. France match, creating a vibrant and pleasant atmosphere. The pizzas are a highlight, with standout options like the Mamma Mia, Amalfi, Calzone, Hot Dancers, and Princepesca. The menu offers a wide variety of choices to suit all tastes. With ample seating and excellent service, it’s a comfortable and inviting spot to dine. The great location also lets you enjoy live music from the streets nearby, adding to the charm. Having visited twice, this restaurant is definitely worth a stop when in Funchal.

We visited this place given the good reviews, and as it mentions it is a Pizzeria we were expecting a great pizza. Instead, our Marguerita pizza looked like something you find at any basic North American supermarket (and tasted like it as well). Even the basil was the dried stuff and not fresh. The dough was also pretty lousy and the cheese was not even fior de late (tasted like cheddar). This pizza was not something you expect from a Pizzeria in Europe. I think you can see this from the pictures. The view is beautiful since you can see the ocean right from the table. But it did not make up for the lackluster food, and even the service was not great as the waitress completely disappeared after serving the pizza (we could not even find her anywhere in the restaurant after waiting quite a while). Skip this place and get some better pizza anywhere else

On a warm day/evening there's a nice outdoor seating area on the sidewalk overlooking the sea. There is another outdoor covered area and a further one inside. It isn't plush though, so there's no need to 'dress for dinner'. After seeing one arrive at the table next to us we decided to order a pizza and opted to share a half and half one. A great idea where you can choose 2 different toppings and charged the price of what the most expensive one would have been. Alongside this we had a mixed salad. Both of these were generous in their portion sizes and tasted great. Definitely be back when we next visit Madeira!

We came here twice and might go once again before we leave! It’s a gem for tasty food, beautiful views, and quick service! It’s not a fancy place, very casual and suits those nights you don’t want to dress up, just have some good food and head home. The price is extremely reasonable! I had bruschetta the first time in Madeiran garlic bread - divine! For dinner, I had the vegetarian burger with chips, and you could taste it was all homemade. Madeira so serve burgers bun-less so I got a garlic bread and constructed it myself 😊

Very nice restaurant with a beautiful view at the sea. As a „greeting“ you get poncha and some olives. We ordered a pizza to share. The restaurant offers the opportunity that you can choose 2 different pizza choices on one pizza and you have to pay the expensive one. Pizza was good for a none Italien country. They also offer salad, pasta and risotto on the menu. Prices are a little bit high but we believe you also pay for the view. Service was very friendly.
