What a great, no frills local restaurant near the bus station. This place is only open for a few hours every afternoon and is usually busy by 1-1:30 and is such a great value. A main plate, a drink, a dessert and coffee is included. When we went, we had to wait for a table and it was basically all filled with locals, but we felt welcome and one staff member spoke great English. The day we were there the main choices were steak, pork, or a choice or two different fish. We opted for the steak and the pork. The portions were ample and came with fries and a refreshing salad. There was a choice of desserts, a chocolate cake or a biscuit cake - so we got one of each and both were tasty and I got a coffee. Folks who ordered wine with their meal received a bottle of wine put on the table, we opted for beer. Our total was 25 euro for both plates and beverages. If you are looking for a good value, good experience, filling, local place this is absolutely worth coming to. We hope to go back while we're here in Lagos.

Outstanding Sea Bream. It’s a locals place and hopefully when you arrive they can squeeze you in. Georges is a star ⭐. This is the epitome of fine dining 😉 Get there at 12 or you’ll have to wait in line. **Update** Returned for a second time and equally as good. Sea Bass and a selection of grilled meats. Super value! Back tomorrow. **Update** Third visit. The sardines were spectacular. Sea Bass equally good. I wish we could get potatoes, as good, at home in Scotland. Biscuit cake, who knew such a glorious thing existed. George is the best ever maitre’d in a t shirt. Sadly heading home. Meant to say - all for 12 euro inc. wine. MARVELLOUS!!

Absolutely amazing food for such great value. We were recommended this very simple, authentic Portuguese restaurant by our boat tour operator. We knew it would be a great lunch when we walked through the door and the staff and other restaurant-goers all looked at us like we were lost! I had the steak and my friend had the seabass - both were beautifully cooked. We polished it off with a lovely bottle of vinho verde (one of the nicest we had overall). If you want to go somewhere fancy this isn't for you. If you want genuinely good authentic food for a knock-out price, then get yourself here!

What a great place, just as previous reviews state: local, generous, flavourful and friendly. We arrived minutes before noon and found a table with room for us. There were already a number of folks dining with many more arriving after us. Ordered steak (c/w fries), Sea Bass (c/w potatoes and salad) & beer from the day's offerings. (Not even sure there are printed menus - we just asked what was available.) Both meals were fantastic - nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly. Fries were not salted but there is salt, piri-piri, etc., at the table or on request. We were so stuffed that we did not opt for dessert. Our waiter was excellent, genuine and spoke perfect English - and here we were ready to practice our (very limited) Portuguese phrases. Beside us was a nice couple from Berlin that had eaten here before and we very much enjoyed chatting with them. We paid cash - not sure if credit cards are accepted. Toilets are on-premises if that's important to you. This is a wonderful establishment where you will enjoy dining with the wonderful people of Portugal that know good value. You will...
