We opted for a traditional restaurant that is used by local people. We saw fantastic reviews so booked in advance a late dinner. I definitely advise one to book in advance as this restaurant is very popular. The staff upon arrival were very friendly and the atmosphere was vibrant everyone chatting away. We went by restaurants recommendations including monk fish stew which I hadn't had since a young and clam dish. We should have paced ourselves as the bread entries were so filling and delicious. Ever since I found O Maravilhas, still at their old location, I have been returning whenever possible. Just my very favorite tasca in Lisbon. Carlos and Luisa are wonderful hosts, offering authentic Portuguese dishes at highest quality, tasty, unpretentious, fish as well as meat dishes. Their arroz de pato is the best I tasted and the filete de peixe (with a choice of different fish) is just sensational.
