A Padaria Portuguesa — Restaurant in Lisbon

Probably the worst place in terms of hygiene…. Pigeons enter the place and stay on the tables where people eat. I told the staff downstairs that there was a pigeon on a table upstairs and the only answer I got was: “it’s normal, they enter by the main door “. I took my coffee and went upstairs to see how long it would take before someone of the staff would chase the pigeon, but nothing … he ended up flying away when the waitress passed by to bring a dish to a table. I thought at least someone from the staff would immediately come to clean the table, but nothing. I had to go down stairs to tell them that they should clean and they sent someone to do it…. I could not believe my eyes. What are the hygiene...

Other than plain bread there are no vegan options. Also at this Padaria the employee who spoke to me didn't know the ingredients of the spinach croquette and the spinach mash that they serve at lunch time. Whether it contains cheese or milk seems to be a mystery. Padaria Portuguesa need to work on adding vegan options as they are clearly not providing for a growing number of vegan clients. Also some basic training to staff refarding the difference between vegetarian and vegan would be great, since we're not in...

The service is good. The staff is friendly.

Just like any other places on this chain, the pastries are very good and very sweet. There is a lot of bread variety as well.

For other customers: Please clear the table on the appropriate racks. There is no seated service and the pidgeons just land on the tables and make a mess. It's very disgusting and dirty.
