Well well well, what do we have here? A little cevicherĂa in Lisbon that dares to bottle the spirit of the sea? Choclo Ceviche, youâve worked some serious magic on me.
We started strong with the Ostras a la Chalaca. Those oysters didnât whisper, they belted out an aria of salt, citrus, and mischief. Topped with tomato, red onion and lime, they slid down like liquid spells. I slurped them back like I was collecting souls.
Then came the Yuquitas a la HuancaĂna. Crispy on the outside, warm and golden inside, served with a creamy yellow sauce so sinful it should come with a warning. I was tempted to steal the recipe and hex it into my own cauldron.
The Pescado ClĂĄsico followed, gleaming with leche de tigre that bit back in the best way. Sharp, bright, and fearless, it woke something ancient in me. The fish was fresh enough to sing and the citrus rode in like a tidal wave.
Then came the Tiradito Criollo, seductive and silky, draped in smoky heat and creamy mystery. Each bite was like a whispered promise in a dark alley. I may have purred.
And oh, those spicy margaritas. They were potions in a glass. Citrusy, fiery, and far too easy to drink. Every sip made me want to strike a deal and start a little chaos.
Choclo Ceviche is no ordinary eatery. Itâs a sirenâs lair, a treasure trove of flavor, a place where every dish sings and every bite has bite.
10 out of 10. Iâd happily trade my voice for another...

This place is tiny, maybe 16-20 seats, so make a reservation if you want to eat here. The front house staff is charismatic and charming and provides great service.
I was greeted with a dish of house fried and salted corn kernels upon being seated. Simple and wonderful. First, the octopus with olives was probably the best octopus preparation Iâve had in recent memory. Meaty, salty, creamy, so good. Next up, the âpescado classicoâ is made with the catch of the day and it was super fresh, complementing the house tigerâs milk beautifully. The spice is nice, not overwhelming, and adds an interesting heat to the dish that pairs well with the sweet potato. The salmon ceviche (canât remember the name, but pictured here) was also great, giving a fun contrast between the flavors and presented like a work of art.
This was my favorite meal in Portugal. Lovely food in a lovely environment with lovely people. Experiences like this are not common. You...
Read moreA fantastic little place in Lisbon. Looking in, this wonderful restaurant has a friendly and welcoming aesthetic. The staff are friendly and helpful, you can also see the chef as he prepares your food in an open kitchen space.
The Yucca Fries had a lovely crisp texture with a smooth filling. And the source that complimented the dish was delicious with a hint of spice. We had two ceviche dishes which were both delicious. The classical ceviche had a lovely sour taste complimented with a soft sweet taste. The Japanese influenced ceviche was my favourite of the two, it packed a punch and the flavours were spot on! The octopus dish we had was delicious. The lilac source was filled with flavour that I can't explain... You'll have to try it!
I've given this place a 5 star, simply because the food was great, staff were lovely, the atmosphere was homely and the cost for what we had was excellent value for money.
If you're are visiting Lisbon and enjoy seafood I recommend that you visit...
