Monte Belvedere Hotel by Shiadu in Lisbon, Portugal was such a lovely stay for my son and I. We have been planning this trip for a few years. A friend of mine stayed here and loved the boutique hotel.||The boutique hotel is set in a historical area of Portugal so not every form of transportation is granted access arriving at the hotel. This I wasn't aware of, but made me more happy we were going to be staying here. I inquired about scheduling transportation to the hotel (paid at check-in) and back to the airport (paid before checking out). We were provided with 2 affordable options. One can take other forms of transport, but it won't leave you at the hotel's entrance.||We arrived early so we were able to check our bags and Ms. Martins gave us a map of Portugal and recommended where to eat while we waited for our room to be ready. We walked around, shopped, and ate before returning. Our room was ready and we were escorted to our room. Our room was so quaint and a message was left for my son for his upcoming birthday.||The room comes with a tv, safe and mini bar as well as an area to make coffee and tea. There was plenty of space for our clothes and belongings. The bathroom had plenty of towels and the toiletries were earthy and lovely. We had a view of the front of the street which was great. The bed had to be the best we ever slept on. The whole vibe was nothing but cozy. Bring an international adapter/plug.||Wherever you were in the hotel, the views were spectacular. My son loved that he could see the statue of "Christ the King" which he referred to as "Jesus of God." We went to the rooftop where there is a Happy Hour each night. Outside on the roof are tables and chairs and lounge chairs as well. At night it was just so amazing. This is the same area where we have breakfast. Don't miss out on breakfast!!!!! They make their own jams, which I purchased. I highly recommend you try everything and buy those jams.||I am not exaggerating when I say the entire staff was top-notch! Everyone was so helpful and assisted me with all my questions. I was assisted with scheduling our boat ride on the River Tegus (do it!) and I was able to purchase our Metro passes at the hotel. ||I really don't want to leave anything out. And I hope I haven't. Truly the best customer service we've had. Such a memorable vacation. And such a beautiful country that left us with memories that we will cherish forever. Now go book your trip...

Read moreWe had a wonderful experience staying at Hotel Monte Belvedere by Shiadu in Lisbon. We spent four nights on the 5th floor, and everything about our stay was exceptional. The hotel is a beautiful boutique property—stylishly decorated, cozy, and full of charm. Its location next to the Miradouro de Santa Catarina means the views are absolutely stunning, especially at sunset.
The breakfast deserves special mention—truly exceptional. A fantastic variety of fresh, high-quality options that made every morning something to look forward to. Easily one of the best hotel breakfasts we've ever had!
What really made our stay stand out, though, was the customer service. The staff went above and beyond throughout our stay, and we’d especially like to highlight Claudia at the front desk. Her warmth, kindness, and genuine care made us feel incredibly welcome and well looked after. She's a real credit to the hotel.
One thing to keep in mind—not a complaint, just a heads-up: After a short trip to the Algarve, we returned for one more night and were placed on the 4th floor, which is at street level (same as reception). We happened to come back on a Saturday night, and due to its location, it was noticeably noisier than our previous stay. So if you’re sensitive to sound, you might want to request another floor. Make your reservation directly from...
