Well, butter my bread and call me a pastel de nata, visiting Pink Street in Lisbon in was like stepping into a bubblegum-flavored time warp! 🍬🇵🇹

So picture this: I'm strolling through the charming streets of Lisbon, admiring the historic architecture and soaking in the sunshine like a cat on vacation. And then, bam! Suddenly I'm face-to-face with a street that looks like it got into a passionate love affair with a flamingo and decided to dye itself pink from head to toe.

Walking down Pink Street is like being in a cotton candy paradise, but instead of sugary fluff, it's made of funky bars, quirky shops, and tourists from every corner of the globe. It's like a United Nations of Pinkness, with people chattering away in languages I never even knew existed. I half-expected a local artist to pop out from behind a corner and serenade us with a Portuguese version of "Barbie Girl."

Now, let's talk about the nightlife. The bars along Pink Street were like a circus for grown-ups – with neon lights, lively music, and cocktails that could probably power a disco ball. It's the kind of place where you'd find a drink that changes colors when you spin it, and you'd end up sipping it like a sophisticated scientist in a lab coat.

But here's the real kicker: Pink Street isn't just about the color, it's about the atmosphere. Everyone's there to have a blast, from solo travelers looking for a wild night out to groups of friends who've made a pact to dance like nobody's watching. Even the shyest wallflowers couldn't resist tapping their toes and getting caught up in the contagious energy.

And did I mention the Instagram opportunities? Pink Street practically screams "post me on your feed!" It's the kind of place where even your camera develops a sweet tooth.

But as they say, all bubblegum things must come to an end. Eventually, the night grew late, the pink lights dimmed, and I found myself walking away from Pink Street with a heart full of fun memories and a newfound appreciation for the color pink.

So, if you ever find yourself in Lisbon and want to experience a street that's sweeter than a Portuguese custard tart, make your way to Pink Street. Just be prepared for a vibrant pink overload that's sure to tickle your taste buds and your...

Overhyped, Smelly, and Unsafe – Disappointing Experience

I had high hopes for Pink Street after hearing so much about it, but unfortunately, our visit was anything but pleasant. This review is not a reflection on the pubs or bars located in the area — I'm sure some of them are worth visiting — but the street itself was a letdown.

First, the smell was quite unpleasant. Walking down the street felt more like navigating a neglected alley than a popular tourist attraction, and the overall atmosphere was far from what we expected.

More importantly, we encountered a serious disturbing safety issue. As my wife and I were walking toward the end of the street, I briefly looked at my phone to check our transport connections. In that moment, my wife felt something off and realized her bag had been tampered with. Someone had actually reached their hand into her bag in an attempt to steal valuables. The zipper was left half open. We immediately noticed four individuals in close proximity. As soon as they realized we had noticed them, they quickly changed their behavior and began pretending to act like regular tourists. They were dressed casually and each carried crossbody bags, blending in with the crowd — but it was clear they were working together and targeting visitors.

Luckily, nothing was taken, and I managed to take photos of the individuals, which I’ve attached here as a warning to others.

Please be extremely cautious — these pickpockets, dressed to blend in as tourists, can be found not just on Pink Street but around many of Lisbon’s main tourist spots. Always keep an eye on your belongings and stay alert in crowded areas.

Sadly, between the poor upkeep of the street and the unsettling experience, this was one of the low points...

Pink Street, Lisbon: A Party Lover’s Playground

After dinner, we decided to head down to Lisbon’s infamous Pink Street, hoping to find a nice bar for a couple of relaxed drinks. What we walked into, however, was an entirely different scene.

Pink Street is vibrant, loud, and absolutely buzzing with people. Every bar was jam-packed, music pouring out into the streets, and the energy was unmistakably electric—a magnet for a younger, party-hungry crowd looking to dance, mingle, and keep the night going.

That wasn’t quite what we were looking for. We had a more laid-back evening in mind, so instead, we found a quiet-ish spot to sit outside with a lovely bottle of wine and just enjoyed people-watching and soaking up the vibe from a distance. Sometimes, just observing the energy is entertainment enough.

To be clear, if partying late into the night is your goal, Pink Street delivers. There are loads of spots to dance, drink, and meet people. It’s colorful, chaotic in a fun way, and definitely a Lisbon nightlife hotspot.

But if you’re after something more chill, intimate, or mature, this might not be your scene—or at least not at first glance. It’s possible those hidden gems exist nearby, but we didn’t find them that evening.

Final Take: If you’re visiting Lisbon and craving nonstop nightlife, Pink Street is worth a stroll. Just make sure it matches the mood you’re in—because this street definitely comes with a side of...

Overrated and Unsafe – Be Cautious! Pink Street in Lisbon is extremely overrated. The place smells bad and feels more like a tourist trap than anything else. After taking a few photos, we walked toward the end of the street where there's a tunnel. While we were distracted talking about our next stop, I suddenly felt someone touching my backpack. I quickly told my husband to check, and he saw four girls closely tailing us. One of them had already unzipped my backpack and was reaching for my purse. Thankfully, we caught them just in time before anything was stolen. As soon as they realized that we noticed, they walked ahead pretending nothing had happened. Please be very careful and stay aware of your surroundings if you visit this area. This experience really ruined our impression of Pink Street. Here is the picture of pickpockets.
