I ordered a curry dish and when they brought it it was spicy although it wasn't mentioned in the menu. I explained this to the waitress and she said that all curry is spicy. I tried to explain that this is a cultural thing and I am not used to curry being spicy by default(especially if it isn't mentioned). The waitress said ok, choose something else and took the dish away(I only took that first bite out of it) and brought me my second choice. When they gave us the bill they told me I had to pay for both dishes(although she didn't mention that when she took away the plate) so we talked to the manager and she mocked us and called us liars after I said that I ate curry in other countries that wasn't spicy. She actually snorted at me and made a face - kind of unprofessional for such a pricy restaurant(for Portugal). We were a table of 8 girls, I was on my bachelorette party which she could tell because we mentioned it(we weren't impolite or gross or anything, we really explained nicely the situation). We just jumped in this restaurant from the street without any idea about this place...first of all restaurant personell amazing, they are very open to communicate with you ( it is not a kind of place where you just came and they bring you menu and then leave you...) the important thing is that you can negotiate with them about food and especially wine...what to say from the entrance and till the end you are treated like a king. definetly. Food is amazing I can not explain this food combinations but it is fantastic, combined with excellent wines ( and believe me they have a lot of wines) At the end waiter told me now you need to finish like a king and he brought us cognac and cuban cigare....fantastic... and all that king treatment you will get for acceptable prices....if you want be treated like a king go there and let them lead you...

An absolutely phenomenal experience for food and service. I visited Lisbon this summer (2021) with friends. I dined at Descobre six times over the past three months. On all occasions, both the food and dining experience was nothing short of perfect. The taste and presentation of the food is on par with Michellin Star restaurants in London. The staff are also experienced in recommending the best drinks to go with the food choice - from the wine to the cocktails.
