The four of us from San Francisco Bay Area where there are numerous Japanese restaurants were blown away by the quality and authenticity of the sushi and sashimi Chef Wang made for us. His 20+ years of rigorous training and sushi chef experience both in Lisbon and previously Paris made his restaurant stand out. Though small and newly opened, we tasted every bit of excellency that will bring him much success. Being such a modest person, he simply described his sushi making as “with passion, knife (that represents the highest skill and technique), and heart”. We enjoyed so much of our meal (a platter of mixed sashimi, a platter of sushi as shown in the photo, and an order of tempura shrimp) with great indulgence. Chef Wang’s knowledge of and attention to every ingredient that ends up on his plate is impressive, such as the water portion adjusted to rice depending on which season and region it’s harvested; the best season for various fishes and shellfishes in terms of their texture changes, etc… Had to add 40% gratuity to the unbelievably inexpensive bill to justify the gap between the quality and cost. Chef Wang deserves every penny, and much more! VERY highly recommend this restaurant and Chef Wang! We’ll definitely revisit whenever we come to Lisbon.

This place was one of my FAVORITE eats during our 3 week stay in Portugal. That says a lot coming from my partner and I, who plans their itinerary around food spots. We randomly stumbled upon this place last minute after a different resy fell through, and we’re so happy that happened. we were shook after first bite — IT WAS SO GOOD!! Everything was so fresh and the fish quality was incredible. The chef / owner I believe were so so sweet and apparently has been making sushi for decades. Def a must for a no frills, great quality food. Definitely coming back on our next trip! :) Cant recommend this place enough.

I visited this restaurant in October and ordered the mix plate. The food was fresh and tasty, with well-flavored rice. Although the sushi rice wasn’t tightly formed, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. The service was excellent, friendly and very fast. The restaurant is small, family-owned, and has a cozy, casual atmosphere, which makes it perfect for a relaxed meal. Considering the quality and price ratio, it’s definitely one of the good sushi restaurants in Lisbon. I’d recommend it for anyone looking for quick and delicious sushi.

Must read!

Prepare to embark on a sushi adventure like no other! I recently had the privilege of dining at a remarkable sushi establishment, guided by the talented Mr. Wang and his wonderful family, that left an indelible mark on my taste buds and my heart.

The sushi here is nothing short of perfection. Each piece is a work of art, meticulously crafted to showcase the freshest, most exquisite ingredients. The quality is unparalleled, a testament to the chef’s dedication to the craft. Every bite is an explosion of flavor and texture, from the delicate balance of flavors in the nigiri to the innovative rolls that push the boundaries of sushi.

But what truly sets this place apart is the warmth and hospitality of the Wang family. It’s not just a meal; it’s an invitation into their world of culinary excellence. Mrs. Wang’s warm smile greets you as you enter, setting the tone for a delightful evening. Their children, who assist in various capacities, exude a passion for sushi that mirrors their parents’.

Mr. Wang, the culinary maestro himself, not only crafts sushi with precision but also curates a dining experience that is unforgettable. His passion for sushi is contagious, and his knowledge about each piece he serves adds an educational dimension to the meal, making it not just delicious but also enlightening.

The ambiance of the restaurant is equally enchanting. It’s an oasis of serenity, providing the perfect backdrop for a sushi journey that transports you far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Whether you’re seeking an intimate date night or a place to celebrate a special occasion, this is the spot.

In summary, my sushi experience at this establishment, guided by the Wang family, was a revelation. It redefined my understanding of sushi and elevated it to an art form. The combination of world-class sushi, the expertise of Mr. Wang, and the enchanting ambiance, along with the warmth and hospitality of his family, make this place an absolute gem. If you’re a sushi aficionado or simply looking for a remarkable dining experience, don’t miss the opportunity to dine here. It’s a culinary journey you’ll...

Small but mighty, what an amazing gem of a restaurant in a off-the-beaten path location. TLDR recap: delicious sushi and very fresh! Terrific cooked items. During a short one week trip to Portugal I came here to eat a second time after trying it for lunch.

This is a small mom and pop hole-in-the wall kinda place with no frills but a heart of gold, focused (pun intended) on serving quality sushi and Japanese/Asian fare. I came after reading positive feedback from prior customers and I wasn’t disappointed.

Sushi, yakitori skewers, noodles—all delicious and worth every penny and more. You can see the experience, care and attention to detail in every dish. What an unexpected delight in the noodles. They really reminded me of the taste and quality of noodle dishes served at high-end Chinese banquets for weddings. Needless to say, we really enjoyed them.

Second time we came for dinner and arrived waay too early before dinner hours but the owner was kind enough to let us know he would open 30 min early for us. Oops we decided to come back 15 minutes before they opened instead.

Want to take a moment here and add that we had a chance to chat briefly with the chef and son who do it all at this restaurant. We learned about the chef’s extensive background in the restaurant industry how his passion for creating an excellent sushi dining experience drives his attention to all the details like temperature, thickness, and cutting grain of the fish. Their menu is dedicated to serving a key types of fish, he really puts in the effort to make sure the customer's eating experience is optimal. Even as covid really challenged their business, being such a small operation they work hard each day to keep it going, all with a welcoming attitude and a modest, humble demeanor. I hope more customers can come try out this spot, it's such a diamond...
