This is NOT THE REAL Nepalese restaurant. SMALL PORTIONS, HIGH PRICES, BAD FOOD. Customer service - Nepali people serve food with both hands and accept money by touching one hand elbow. That did not happen at this restaurant. They seem to lost the tradition and cultures. Nepali people are very polite but here they were just doing formality. I asked for 2 rotis and 1 naan. I asked them to bring 2 rotis in once and bring one Naan later. The waiter acted as if I have asked for something free. They have not been trained to have 2 minutes polite conversation. Food: I ordered Aloo Gobi and the gobi was half cooked. 13.00 euros for the smallest portion.
Paneer tikka… you have used one small piece of paneer and broken it down into 5 smallest pieces… IS THIS A JOKE? Most expensive paneer tikka… what a waste of money. At least make it 6 pieces for a couple. It is common sense.
Samosa: You charge 2.50 for one samosa. How many times do you get 1 person dining in your restaurant. You could make it at least 2 small samosas and/or increase the price as this is suitable for a couple.
PlEASE STOP MAKING ROTI as this is not the real roti. Roti means soft that will melt in your mouth. Roti was very hard and you could not eat after 5 minutes as it gets very hard. Salad: The waiter told me that the chef has worked for 10 years in India. I asked for a portion of salad. The waiter asked what kind of salad do you want? I asked some pieces of onions and a small piece of lime. How come it is not possible for a chef to not know how to make a small salad portion. The salad portion includes a little bit of onion, tomato, carrot, a piece of chilly. How come you do not know this? The restaurant looks like a Nepalese restaurant but it does not have the same service and food. STOP MAKING HARD ROTIS, LEARN CUSTOMER SERVICE, STOP SERVING HALF COOKED FOOD like GOBI.
I have added the bill to verify that this is a genuine review. I knew that the owner is only interested in 5 star reviews. They just want to give excuse and do...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing! The staff at Gurkha Restaurant are some of the sweetest, kindest, and funniest people we’ve met, and they serve hands down the best Indian curry we’ve had in Lisbon. We loved it so much that we went back a second time during our stay. The first time we visited around 20:30, the restaurant was packed, full of warmth and lively energy. Tonight we came back around 20:00, when it was a bit quieter, which gave us more time to chat with the lovely staff. They even remembered us and were genuinely grateful we returned, which made the experience extra special.
We ordered Butter Chicken and Chicken Mango again, and both dishes were just as creamy, flavourful, and perfectly seasoned as the first time—true comfort food that makes you happy. Paired with Garlic Naan, plain Naan, and Arroz Branco, it felt like the full Indian experience. Don’t miss the Mango Lassi either—it’s creamy, sweet, and bursting with mango flavor.
For dessert, we tried the homemade Mango Kulfi, a type of ice cream new to us and surprisingly delicious, and the Gulab Jamun, which was wonderfully sweet, warm, and chewy.
Overall, Gurkha Restaurant has become our absolute favourite restaurant in Lisbon. The food, the atmosphere, and the amazing staff make it unforgettable. We can’t wait to come back and enjoy their diverse menu again—from chicken and lamb to fish and vegetarian dishes—all at very affordable prices. Highly...
Read moreThis restaurant is situated in the heart of a semi-urban area near a campo Pequeno & Entrecampos Train Station. It is a favorite place to hangout and have Indian & Nepalese dinner.✌🏻
The decor is very nice with mix of nepalsese culture, standard, and modernity. Diners without reservation are focused asap and are placed at the table accordingly.
The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouthwatering starters and main courses that will appeal to youngsters and adults alike. I had tandoori chicken and chicken jalfrezi with garlic naan , as well as prawns, fish, lamb and varieties of rice. My friend tried the pulau rice and prawn karai. They were all exquisite. It was all followed by a savory cheese cake with a scoop of strawberry jam and a cherry on top.
Everything we ate was fresh and delicious. The chefs use the best possible quality ingredients to produce dishes that are simply delightful. The restaurant also offers a wonderful drink menu, and they offer wide variety of the good wines. The drinks are reasonable and are surely worth sampling.
In contrast, however, the service was not of the highest possible quality as there were little staff in the counter. Also, the owner seemed very warm and thoughtful. He came around to check on our experience and seemed to be authentically engaged, I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is brilliant. I will...
