Nova Pequim — Restaurant in Lisbon

Look, first of all the food is really good. Like really good; the presentation and the taste are great. If you are in the mood for some nice Chinese, the food is great. All of that for a very good price. For that I would have given four stars. Unfortunately, I gotta go with three and that's not the food, it was the restaurant and the service. First of all, the bathrooms are a tad odd but I mean you gotta make due with the space you got, so I can overlook this. Next thing is: we got a table next to the open door, and even though this is Portugal, I had to wear my jacket because the cold draft really bothered me. You don't need to leave the door open to signal people that you are open for business, a sign can do the job for you. Lastly, the service. This is where you messed it up. It's one thing to have run out of some stuff on the menu, but literally all but one item on the starters section? Then when we ordered the one starter that they had left, it didn't get served first. No, instead they brought one main course out, then ten minutes later the second main for the person I was with and then the starter. No apologies or heads up, nothing. Here you have really lost me, I can still excuse that the starter gets served with the two mains, but getting out one main first and then ten minutes later the second main? So i got two choices here, either I start eating while my company watches me eat, which is hugely impolite in my opinion, or you wait until everyone has their food, and by that time your dish is cold. That is basic restaurant service and I don't get how you manage to mess this one up. So all in all good food, the rest pretty damn bad. I have no idea if that place serves take out because that would be what I recommend, don't sit down and eat there. Sorry, you had the potential for four stars but...

We had a birthday party 🥳 at the restaurant and it was an unforgettable experience! We booked a karaoke room for dinner and singing. It was the perfect choice for our group of friends.

The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, ensuring that everything ran smoothly throughout the evening. The food was authentic and absolutely delicious. We had been there many time and the food is always good. The Chinese eggplant 🍆, lotus root, Japanese Toufu, rice noodles, Tieban beef, general Tso’s chicken, beef in sour soup are our favorite dishes.

The karaoke setup was fantastic, adding an great fun to our party. Everyone enjoyed their time singing and cheering each other on. It was a night filled with laughter, great food, and wonderful memories. We absolutely LOVE this.

O ambiente é acolhedor e perfeito para eventos como o nosso. O karaokê foi uma atração à parte – os convidados se divertiram imensamente, criando uma energia animada e descontraída que fez a celebração ainda mais especial.

O atendimento merece muitos elogios. A equipe foi atenciosa e incansável, mesmo com o elevado número de convidados. Queremos destacar especialmente o trabalho do Mário, do Zakire e do Poter, que foram incríveis! Eles ficaram além do horário planejado, atenderam a todos com paciência e estavam sempre disponíveis para garantir que tudo saísse perfeito.

A comida, claro, foi outro destaque. Deliciosa, tradicionalmente chinesa, em porções generosas e com sabores marcantes, agradou a todos os paladares. A equipe também se mostrou muito esforçada, sempre tentando entender exatamente o que queríamos e se comunicando em português de forma eficiente, o que nos deixou ainda mais à vontade.

Além disso, o restaurante é extremamente flexível: permitiram que decorássemos a sala ao nosso gosto, o que ajudou a tornar o ambiente ainda mais especial e personalizado. Os pacotes de bebidas também foram uma excelente solução para organizar o evento e garantir a satisfação dos convidados.

Por fim, não podemos deixar de mencionar os preços acessíveis, especialmente considerando que o Nova Pequim está situado em uma zona de Lisboa onde isso não é comum. Foi, sem dúvidas, uma excelente escolha em todos os aspectos!
