We were so pleasantly surprised at the high standard at this seemingly modest BnB. Firstly, the room we booked was spotlessly clean and well-appointed with a fantastic city view from the balcony. The communal areas were nothing short of gorgeous, furnished with high quality solid units and an enormous leather sofa, as well as fascinating books and endless, unique little touches. The staff are so friendly, helpful and relaxed, yet not in any way intrusive, that you feel as though you're staying with long-lost family members as opposed to employees. The location is excellent, with many interesting restaurants and a shopping complex, as well as a metro station right on the doorstep. Finally, we thoroughly enjoyed the continental breakfast options. They don't offer a fried English breakfast, but there are numerous other options, and quality of the fresh ingredients far surpasses anything you're likely to get in a UK hotel. The orange juice is freshly squeezed; the bread rolls taste as though they're freshly baked, and the selection of cured meats and local cheeses is highly impressive. All in all, we both felt that this establishment offers amazing value for money, and we were very lucky to have stumbled upon...
Read moreA bit noisy in the room — it was even hard to talk on the balcony. That’s the downside of a central location. The metro station is right next to the building, offering easy access to the city center. There are 3 bathrooms for 7 rooms, but that wasn’t a problem — one was always available. There’s no parking nearby, and it can be hard to find a free spot in the area. However, the paid parking zone only applies until 7 p.m., so parking is possible after that. If you decide to use the Telpark parking lot (about a 10-minute walk), it’s worth having the app (you’ll get a 50% discount). The hostess was wonderful and gave me lots of helpful advice. Breakfast was included, though not spectacular, but it was fresh. Unlimited filtered coffee. The room was spacious and very clean. Good...
Read moreThe BnB was initially tricky to locate. It's a floor in an office building. The host Manuel received us graciously and we were able to drop off our luggage even though check in time was hours away. It was me, my wife and my 20 year old son. The room was spacious with high ceilings and facing the old bull fighting arena. The shared living and eating space was pleasant, the breakfast was enjoyable and the other guests were nice. The woman who helped Manuel was also very friendly. The shared washrooms were not an issue as there was always a washroom available and they were kept clean. The location on the subway line and within walking distance of the Baixa, Alfama and Bairro Alto. Excellent for someone who needs to get a good night's sleep so they can spend the day...
