What can I add that hasn’t already been said in the other reviews?? The place is beautiful, very serene but with ambient music to soften and heighten your experience.
The staff is very friendly, informative and welcoming.
The food is a sophisticated Turkish, with some fusions of the Middle East, Portuguese and vegetarian dishes all wrapped into one!!
The palate is subtle and not overwhelming. If there was one word to describe the food it would be “delicate”. Everything about it is light, in a very good way.
It’s a sharp contrast to the heavy spices and meats typically known as Turkish.
The food here is more from the Aegean region and its so welcoming.
We started with their changing daily starters that consisted of an octopus salad, and eggplant dip (somewhat resembling babaganoush) and stuffed peppers with cheese and nuts.
My son had their ribs, my husband the Turkish version of ravioli Called manti and I had their grilled cauliflower. All were superb.
The ribs were fall off the bone super soft with a delicious eggplant “mashed version of potatoes” but not potatoes. It’s eggplant with milk, butter and cheese. So delicious.
The manti was perfectly cooked and the yogurt sauce to pour over super refreshing making it a light dish.
My cauliflower was charred and grilled perfectly.
For dessert my son opted for a chocolate mousse and was split with my husband. They added a sesame crackers in it that totally balanced out the texture and richness of it all.
Lastly, we had a cup of Turkish tea to end the dinner and chat with the chef and owners.
We will return with others in tow!!
Maşallah to...
Read moreListen to me, and stop searching and consider yourself blessed you ended up on this Google review! Not only is this by a mile the best meal in Lisbon, this is the best meal I’ve ate this entire year. I’ve had a lot of Turkish food, been to Istanbul, and Listambul is absolutely spectacular!
I can promise you that the 5.0 rating is not inflated, it is truly a 5.0 perfect dining experience. To start off, Saadet is extremely kind, caring, and helpful in explaining the menu in multiple languages. The inside of the restaurant is spotless, with a great calm and fun vibe. There is attention given to every detail, starting from the menu design, plating, decor etc it is all awesome.
But let me get to the main part, the food is absolutely out of this world. I got to meet chef Ege who is so down to earth and passionate, I knew immediately that we chose the right place to eat. The mezze trio was unbelievable, each dip was so flavorful especially the Merco which reminded me of Çiğ köfte. The special of the week was Manti which is so difficult to find given how long it takes to make the dish. Really took me back to Istanbul and was so authentic. Lastly, the ribs and begendi was unbelievable. It is cooked to absolute perfection, with crispy outside and melt in your mouth middle. The price of everything is super fair, it’s all well seasoned, made with love & care and very authentic!
I had planned my trip around coming here, and that sets very high bar, but this exceeded my expectations. Stop by and see for yourself, I guarantee that you’ll...
Read moreOn our recent trip to Lisbon, my wife and I found an amazing restaurant that blends Turkish and Portuguese flavors in the most creative way. From the moment we stepped in, we felt so welcomed. The atmosphere was warm, and our waitress was super helpful, guiding us through the menu and making sure we picked dishes we’d love.
We started with hummus that came with mussels and prawns—a surprising combo that worked perfectly and showcased the best of both Turkish and Portuguese cooking. The dishes were beautifully prepared and full of flavor, making the whole experience unforgettable.
After our meal, the restaurant treated us to tea on the house, which was a nice touch. But we couldn’t pass up dessert, so we tried their version of Helva. It was different from the super-sweet kind you might find in Turkey—this one was just right, mild sweet and delicious.
One of the highlights was meeting the chefs, who also own the place. They were so friendly and even showed us around the building. The decor was tasteful and cozy, and we found out that it’s also a guest house. It was clear that the same care they put into their food went into designing the space.
This visit wasn’t just a great meal; it was an experience. We’ve already decided that this will be our go-to spot the next time we’re in Lisbon. If you’re looking for a unique dining experience with amazing food and genuine hospitality, you need to check this place out. It’s a hidden gem that’s perfect for anyone who loves good food and...
