The fries were absolutely exceptional - easily the best I've ever had. The texture was perfectly crisp on the outside. I could have easily eaten an entire basket on my own.

The steak was also excellent. It was cooked exactly to my liking - a beautiful medium-rare with a nice char on the outside. The meat was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. Definitely one of the highlights of the meal.

The octopus dish was very good as well. The octopus itself was beautifully tender and had a wonderful char. The accompanying flavors and sides complemented the octopus nicely.

However, I do agree that the portion size was a bit small given the price point. I would have preferred a slightly larger serving or a lower price given how out of the way it is to central.

The bread was not exceptional and should be skipped.

As for the atmosphere, it feels a bit like a subway. The decor was a bit sparse and the seating a little cramped. It didn't have the most inviting or comfortable ambiance and didn’t feel like “Lisbon”.

That said, it wasn't unpleasant by any means - just not the most refined or elegant setting.

Overall, I would recommend this place, especially for the incredible fries and steak. With a few tweaks to the portion sizes and atmosphere, this could easily be one of the top dining experiences in the area. I'm already looking forward to...

Our holiday apartment in Lisbon was next to this restaurant so we had our first meal here. We ordered grilled sardines and grilled swordfish and they both tasted good. The creme biscuit desert was very nice. There was a young witness who helped us translate the Portuguese menu with her phone. We were quite pleased when we finished, and after paying the hand-written bill, we left a good tip. Only after a few other meals in Lisbon, we realised that we were mildly scammed - my 0,2L water cost 2€ and my partner's 0,25L beer cost 3,1€ - they may sound like nothing now but wait after you know about the local prices. The dishes were also over charged by a couple euros when we passed the restaurant and saw the menu outside again. In the end it was still an ok meal but it made us feel bad for...

Authentic Portuguese meals served by the one and only owner, Felipa. This place was recommended to us by our Bolt driver who mentioned he always goes there every time he’s in Lisbon. He swore it was his favorite place and boy it did not disappoint.

Everything was on point from the house wine, to the appetizer to the famous octopus rice! This is a must have if you visit this place! My fiancée who doesn’t each much asked for a second round 😅 of octopus rice

We also had the grilled sardines and some grilled black pork - all juicy and charcoal grilled. We finally finished off with the egg pudding for dessert.

If you are looking to avoid the tourist traps, this is a gem! I would visit this place more than once if I had...

I was introduced to grilled sardines in Lisbon after watching Mark Wien’s video and so I was googling a good place for grilled sardines. Somehow Google review highly recommended this restaurant and so I gave it a try. The grilled sardines were very good, outside was crispy from the grill but the inside was fresh and succulent, also not to mention the sardines were well seasoned with sea salt. To even the savouriness on my palette, there were soft potatoes too on the sides. The only downsides for me personally was the restaurant was located top of the steep slope and my legs were tired of walking after travelling a few days in Portugal

Lovely little authentic spot with amazing staff and food to simply die for! I need to be revived after being sent to heaven by A Parreirinha. If you want classic Portruguese fare with no fluff and plenty of flavour, walk in and relinquish all ordering duties freely. We couldn’t fault a single dish. Highlights were the cod fish fried potatoes and grilled sardines. Finished off with 3 deserts that each earned their place on the podium and we had to roll out the front door and down the hills of Rua dos Remedios leaving only a trail of fish bones and mis-pronounced gratitude. Feliciadades my talented amigos 😊
