Used to come here all the time. Moved from Lisbon and came back today after several months of living in the Algarve. We walked in but decided to get coffee somewhere else because I needed wifi. We began to exit and the guy bumped into my extremely hard with seemingly all the intention in the world to do so. I kept moving outside the door and I told my girlfriend this dude bumped me mad hard and pointed at him. She then told me he bumper HER too!!!
So I went back in to ask if he had intention of bumping myself but especially my girlfriend. He pretended he didn't speak english and I began to ask the worker what he was saying and he didn't want to intervene as he didn't know what was going on understandably. With my very limited Portuguese I asked him if he had a problem with me and he said YES!! So I asked would you like to step outside. He kept chatting his little mouth off and then started speaking PERFECT English and saying "go back to America".
At this point it was clear he was the average portuguese racist that you run into often here. I said well be a man and lets go! He responded "You're going to need to take off your glasses for that". Very well!! STILLLLLL standing in the same spot not doing anything but running his mouth.
Now THIS is where I have a problem with the Owner. The short haired woman that I've seen a numerous amount of times as a customer. She said she was going to call the cops and I said fine go ahead! This guy bumped me and my girlfriend and is CLEARLY racist in his attention so go ahead! Be my guest! She then gets in my face and says "This isn't America, we don't handle things like that here". Whatttt?!?!?! What does America have to do with some dude bumping into my girlfriend and bumping into me EXTRA hard with CLEAR intention, and CLEARLY being a racist. They kept saying America this and America that.
The funny irony is, is that's EXACTLY how they do things in America! They start some trouble and when you defend yourself It's the victim that becomes the problem. Don't forget America that you hate soooo bad was colonized by EUROPEANS!!!
NEVER again will I ever come to this place with these racists...
Read moreRude staff , chocolate roll not soft at all , too expensive for what you get . Typical place interested to make money only. Ok: the 8 tables were free and the big table full of ppl- and NOBODY there was consuming nothing. I bought cheese breads (cold) , chocolate roll (I left there because was so hard , I couldn’t bite into it) and a coffee with milk . I asked to work while I ate , seeing you were empty that time . So it’s contradictory you say it’s not a Coworking for a client who spent 10 euros in an hour (for that horrible food). Talking about staff being rude, he practically threw the food on the table and the manager turned her back and left me without an answer. So, if you really want to be a COFFEE SHOPA train your team how to be GENTLE...
Read moreYou know you’ve found your local coffee shop when, in a city full of options, you keep going back to the same place. Malabarista Café is my fav spot in Lisbon! The coffee is excellent and prepared with passion by the owners. Ricardo and Jadwiga are, above all, coffee enthusiasts, and they share their enormous knowledge with the customers. It doesn't matter if you are an espresso or filter kind of person; you’ll be in good hands in both cases. The food is excellent, with homemade, vegetarian, and vegan options. Whereas some coffees prefer the easier path and sell industrial food, Malabarista’s pastries are always fresh. In sum, Malabarista is the best specialty coffee you’ll find in Anjos...
