Bempostinha 22 — Attraction in Lisbon

IGNORE the review below but I'll keep it here as a historical record. The location is now a workshop for making handcrafted, recycled and upcycled products. You can still get a coffee, beer or drink if you want to pop in and check out the nice, individual items that are fresh off the work table and presented for sale.

This is a great neighbourhood cafe and bar that has been running a long time but is now under new management and, as is not always the case, is much better for it.

The previous owner was a slightly erratic photographer who gave the place a certain character and attracted a local and bohemian crowd but who couldn't always be relied on to open the place depending on his mood!

I'm happy to report the new owner has kept the charismatic, deliberately stressed, found objects interior vibe intact but added a much needed level of professionalism and effort into it's management.

From the reliable opening hours to the daily soup, cold meats, cheeses and excellent chocolate cake made by her mother, regular as well as artisanal beer, well selected wines, the well chosen range of locally sourced products like teas, olive oils and jam for sale, local artist works on the walls, to the high quality live music program on a Friday and Saturday night, not to mention the cool local crowd who hang out there.
