I was in Portugal for just a handful of days and had such a fantastic experience at Norma I came back two nights in a row. Cozy, candle-lit dining area; friendly and attentive service; and some seriously excellent Moroccan-inspired small plates. I really appreciated the way the chef took traditional dishes from his native Morocco and elevated them to fit the Petiscos mold. Particular highlights included the bissara dip (made from split fava beans) and the zaalouk (smoked eggplant salad), both served with warm, house-made bread. The staff was beyond friendly and made us feel completely at home. The cuisine, inspired by Moroccan flavors, was nothing short of amazing. The chef even came out to share the story behind the dishes and his influences, which made the experience even more special. Honestly, it was some of the best food I’ve ever tasted.
