If you’re looking for unique Mexican cuisine in Lisbon, Paco Bigotes Lisboa near the Bairro Alto neighborhood is a charming choice. Perfectly situated close to the lively party district, it offers a relaxed and spacious setting. We walked in without a reservation and were still promptly seated—a testament to their welcoming and accommodating atmosphere.

The Food • Starters: We began with the Covert, a simple yet satisfying dish of chips served with two sauces: a hot red sauce and a fresh green sauce. Both were flavorful, but the standout starter was the Enchiladas Verdes. This dish, a soft enchilada dipped in a tangy green sauce and topped with cheese, was light yet indulgent—a perfect balance that felt fresh and unique compared to other Mexican dishes we’ve tried. It’s a must-order! We also tried the Quesadilla, which came with black beans, pico de gallo, and sour cream. While the flavors were enjoyable, it could have used a bit more seasoning to elevate the dish fully. • Mains: For the main course, we went for two types of tacos: the Pasto Vegan (cauliflower tacos) and the Cochinita Pibil (pork tacos). Both were creative and hearty, with innovative flavors that you won’t find at every Mexican restaurant. • The Cauliflower Tacos had a delightful smoky, charred flavor, but they needed a touch more seasoning to bring the flavors to life. • The Cochinita Pibil Tacos were slow-cooked to perfection, with tender pork infused with light citrus notes. While tasty, they also felt like they were missing a final balancing element to tie everything together.

The service at Paco Bigotes was top-notch—quick, warm, and welcoming. The restaurant’s proximity to Bairro Alto makes it an ideal spot for dinner before a night out, and its creative menu is perfect for those looking to try something a little different from traditional Mexican offerings.

Overall, Paco Bigotes Lisboa delivers an enjoyable dining experience with a creative twist on Mexican cuisine. While some dishes could benefit from a bit more seasoning, the freshness, quality, and innovative approach make it a restaurant worth visiting. If you’re in the area and craving something unique, give it a try.

Unclear pickup instructions & made my husband sick.

I will preface by saying that I don't write reviews, but this was an exceptionally terrible experience that I think is worthwhile to share. We decided to make an Uber eats order for pick-up because it was our last night in Lisbon before an early morning flight so we had to finish packing. We ordered, following the directions to the pick-up location from the Uber app and waited. There was a staff member outside when we arrived and a sign on the door that say Uber eats pick-up wait there so we waited. After waiting about 10 minutes past the time the app told us the food was ready, we knocked on the door, no answer. After about another 5 minutes, we went to main entrance of the resto. We mentioned the issue with the unclear instructions and the person didn't say anything, just called out for someone else to deal with the situation. We explained the situation to her and she blamed us essentially, despite us explaining that the app led us to the pickup location, the signage indicated that was where we should wait for pickup AND a staff member had been there when we arrived and hadn't told us there was another location for pickup. There was no apology offered and no discount, despite our food having sat for at least 15 minutes getting cold. We got 3 types of tacos, we shared 2 of them (they did taste good, to give credit where it is due) and the the third kind (shrimp) only my husband ate. So to top off an already bad experience, my husband got sick from the shrimp tacos (this was the only thing he ate that I didn't). He spent the night running to the bathroom, not getting any sleep and feeling terrible before our early morning flight. Overall, very disappointing experience and wanted to warn anyone thinking of eating from here - you'll be blamed for any issue that arises and you might even...

Honestly, I regret not taking more pictures because we dove right into the food as it arrive because it was soooooo good.

We happened to go to another restaurant not too far that was Mexican/japanese and didn’t feel it was authentic so we stood up and left. We came about this by luck and we were ever so lucky!!

Super authentic, like for real they must have Mexican staff in the kitchen.

The staff was so nice and welcoming. There’s seating upstairs (limited to like 4-6 tables) but they have more seating down stairs. The place is decorated with bright cheerful colors, so automatically that puts you in a good mood.

We knew we hit the jackpot when we saw options on the menu like chelada and michelada!! From that point on, it only got better. We started with the guacamole and the queso fundido. Omg the queso fundido was the BEST thing ever. I am craving it, still now a day later.

My son had the bites tacos, my husband had the fish tacos and I had an enchilada form the app menu.

It was all so well seasoned, full of bright veggies and acidity like it’s meant to be!!

To finish off, we had the chocolate with peanut case that comes with lime ice cream and raspberry sauce on the plate. We had to try it, because we were like “these are all such bizarre ingredients combined, it’s either going to be amazing or a disaster!” Well, leave it to Mexicans to put together ingredients you’d NEVER think worked and have it be unreal!! What an explosion of flavors and combinations that make your heart want to sing!!

We would highly recommend this place and be back!! I have not found authentic Mexican like this place...

Was pleasantly surprised to have the best tacos in Lisbon! Such cute decor! Be mindful that as you sit down they give you tortilla chips with 2 types of sauces ~ this is NOT complimentary. Indulging in a passion fruit mint margarita and a chelarita were delicious pairings to the ceviche (la torre), birria tacos (osso bucco), and sayulita tacos (grilled shrimp). All were outstanding! The seafood in the ceviche was all fresh and a great portion size when sharing. Each taco order comes with 2. Inside of each tortilla wrap there is a crispy melted cheese layer. We finished off the meal with churros that came with caramel sauce. A great decision to come here!
