Cusek Bar — Local services in Lisbon

I was there last night and the manager (he said his name is Ajit) treated me with the most disrespect I have ever faced at a restaurant.

As I was paying I noticed the server clicked some buttons on the machine. Later I noticed a 4% charge I had on my bill, so I wanted to double check what it was about. I asked the person that was closer to me, who turned out to be the manager. Ajit replied: “Do you have a brain?”

This obviously proceeded to me confronting him, asking him to repeat what he said to me. He was evasive and then finally admitted that he had said exactly that, never once apologizing.

The rest of the staff seemed extremely embarrassed and were apologetic for his behaviour but Ajit never once apologized.

I cannot believe how disrespected I was by asking a simple question. I cannot speak for the quality of the food or drinks in this review, because you have a bigger problem to focus...

Es difícil hacer todo prácticamente mal. Llegamos aquí porque un señor de otro restaurante nos dijo que este era el único de la zona que de verdad no engañaba a los turistas (sorpresa, sí). Te lo venden como restaurante portugués e italiano, pero lo que es comida portuguesa no tienen absolutamente nada. Pedimos un “chorizo” que básicamente era una salchicha gorda. Una tabla de quesos que te sale más barata y más rica si la compras tú en un supermercado, con una especie de jamón con un color bastante dudoso. Además, nos dejamos la mitad de los quesos porque no estaban buenos y tenía toda la pinta de que los iban a reutilizar para otro plato. Y por último, unos pasteles de bacalao que sabían a palitos de pescado congelados. Encima, le pedimos una recomendación de los vinos al camarero y no sabía ni explicarlo y nos decía que...

Came here twice in the space of a few days, really unassuming place and the Italian food here is amazing (had the spaghetti Bolognese and carbonara). Service is really friendly too.
