Where to start describing the wonderful Lisboa Pessoa Hotel? Well, I can honestly say I have never had a more enjoyable stay at a hotel. It is just as beautiful as the photos suggest, and the location is also excellent (although be prepared for some steep hills if you have never visited Lisbon before). However, what stood out to us more than anything was the flawless service my partner and I received from all the staff at the hotel. From the moment we stepped out of the taxi, we were greeted by Yasoja, the friendliest and most helpful concierge and an absolute credit to the hotel, who took our bags and showed us to our room. To my surprise, we were upgraded to a larger room on account of it being my birthday, and the room we were given was superb. Spacious, clean and modern, with a free mini bar stocked daily and also bottles of still water. As an additional treat, we were also provided with a chilled bottle of fizz and some chocolate brownies which was a lovely touch – I felt like we were given the VIP treatment! The bathroom was lovely, including a large shower and jacuzzi bath which I made full use of! Yasoja was clearly proud of the hotel and put every effort into providing us with all the help and assistance we needed, and we relied on him for a number of recommendations. Make use of him while you are there! We decided to dine at the hotel’s Mensagem Restaurant as we arrived late the first evening of our stay, and again we were not disappointed. The restaurant is located on the top floor of the hotel and boasts the most amazing views of Lisbon and the sea from its roof terraces. There are also a number of cozy booths, which is where we decided to eat. Every single member of the restaurant staff was polite and attentive, and it was an absolute pleasure to dine there. The food was fantastic (I recommend the salmon and rustic vegetables), and we in fact had our evening meal at the hotel each night as we enjoyed it so much and it was so convenient. I also highly recommend booking the breakfast, which is buffet–style and includes a huge range of hot and cold food and drinks – you won’t want for anything! All in all, we had a wonderful experience at the Lisboa Pessoa Hotel and take away with us beautiful memories of our trip to Lisbon, made even better by the marvelous staff who we really enjoyed speaking to and getting to know during out short trip. If I could give this hotel more than 10 out of 10 I would. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Quite simply, our stay was excellent! Special shoutout to the staff and always-friendly manager here. Apologies for not writing down their names but when we arrived—jet lagged and sweaty— the front desk noted our request for an early check-in and stayed in communication with us while we checked our nearby sights so that they could alert us as soon as our room was ready. Just when we were about to resort to naps at the park, we received the friendly notification that we could check in—for that we are so grateful! Once we checked in, staff surprised us with sparkling wine and cake! I had casually mentioned in the booking that we were visiting for our wedding anniversary and it was so kind of them to offer us this delicious and thoughtful treat. The location was superb (right next to the beautiful Carmo Convent), quiet at night, and easily walkable to everything we wanted to see in Lisbon on this trip. The pool and sauna were great and available when we wanted to use them. The hotel recommended that we call the spa to make sure there was space for us before going downstairs, as it’s not a very large space but sure felt cozy, luxurious, and quite exclusive. We enjoyed using the space and having some of their delicious hot tea after a good soak. Their restaurant upstairs is also worth checking out. We had breakfast there one day, drinks and snacks another. The rooftop view is just incredible and the staff there are attentively and friendly as well, just as they are throughout the rest of the hotel. The bathrooms in the restaurant are worth noting too, as it has floor to ceiling wood panels and almost feels like you’re walking into a serene sauna space. Other notable things: complimentary and restocked mini bar with snacks, beverages, and water in the room; a short walk to a mini market and coffee shop down the alley; clean rooms with robes and slippers. We had a lovely stay here and will highly recommend it to our family and friends for their visit to Lisboa. Thank you!

This hotel was my favorite part about Lisbon! From the beginning when we dropped off our luggage, the front desk was very courteous and welcoming, particularly their manager?, who I really wish I got his name. He did us a huge favor with helping us check in early and bringing up our luggage, and he was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the hotel. He def made our stay! The room itself was furnished very tastefully and had the cutest balcony with a scenic view of Lisbon. It wasn't the biggest (that's Lisbon in general) and the placement of the sink inside of the room is a quirk, but it was super cozy, comfortable, and clean. I appreciated the complimentary water, snacks, juice, and coffee and it was consistently refilled too! The amenities are the star of the show here. You get access to their indoor pool, sauna (properly heated!) and steam room which were very aesthetic/roomy and a great way to relax near the end of the day after tons of walking. They have a common area with towels/water to chill in after too and it was never busy. There's a rooftop bar/restaurant w/ a gorgeous view of the city in which we got free welcome drinks. Location is very central and a 5 min walking distance to Rossio train station, which is perfect for doing day trips to Sintra, etc. Only downside is because it's so central, it can get noisy at times. Being almost at the top floor as well as previous city dwellers, it wasn't so bad but we did hear a lot of noise from the rooftop tables/chairs scraping above us. Also weird minor thing-the spa attendant was overly strict w enforcing the swim cap rule (which granted we did forget our first time, our bad), but only with us as we saw others around the pool not wearing one and not getting harped on. A bit odd. Nevertheless would highly recommend staying at this hotel, well worth it!

Overall enjoyed our stay here.

Reception smells so fresh and good!

When we got there, they assigned us a room on Floor 0, which we thought was the basement, but because the hotel is on a hill, Floor 2 is the reception (but ground floor from the outside) and Floor 0 is another floor for rooms (also ground floor from the outside but on the other side of the building). We didn't feel safe at all there, as the window directly had access to the street. We requested a room change, and they kindly gave us a new room on a higher floor and that was nice.

Breakfast was excellent. Very fresh ingredients. The yogurt bar was great, and the fruit was super fresh. They cook their eggs a bit too salty in my opinion, but perhaps that's a personal taste - we asked for non-salted eggs and it wasn't a problem.

Rooftop view is great while you're eating breakfast. We tucked ourselves into the small booths, which felt private, secure, and intimate.

The sauna was great. They don't take reservations, but the area itself was so quiet that it felt like everyone was abiding to the quiet rules. The sunbeds were great and very relaxing to lie on after going for a small swim/doing a sauna session. They do relatively kick you out of the sauna very quickly and in a rushed manner 5 minutes till 8pm though, but that's kind of expected.

They also offered us welcome packets, like free welcome drinks at the bar, 12% off on certain services at the hotel, and everything in the minibar in the hotel room was free and fully restocked the next day. Quite nice!

The only bad thing I have to say is the hotel floor. It's not carpet, and it's not wood, but some plastic or rubber material. It didn't feel very sanitary, and I just wore my socks or slippers the whole time. Also housekeeping kept leaving their rags on our beds/couches/luggages and that was quite annoying.

Keep in mind: you'll be able to hear your next-door neighbor closing their doors, as the walls aren't very thick. But it seems like they've utilized the space in the hotel very well, as every single corner is well-utilized.

The hotel is on a hill, so it's quite a bit of a trek especially if you're coming back from being in the central area down by the water. But it's nothing too difficult. The AC helps :)

Overall good stay, friendly and helpful service, and...

We are beyond grateful for the extraordinary service provided by Yasoja Ekanayake, Assistant Director Guest Relations, at Lisboa Pessoa Hotel.

While my parents were visiting Lisbon for my mother’s 70th birthday, my father lost his phone in an Uber — a phone essential for managing his diabetes. As a result, my parents had to cancel the remainder of their trip in Portugal and remain in Lisbon, hoping to retrieve the phone before their departure two days later. Unfortunately, Uber provided absolutely no assistance in recovering the lost phone, leaving us to handle the situation entirely on our own.

That’s when Yasoja stepped in with remarkable compassion and dedication. He immediately helped my parents find a new hotel in Lisbon at a better price for their extended stay, arranged their transportation from Lisboa Pessoa Hotel to the new hotel, and — even after my parents had checked out of his hotel — continued to stay in constant communication with both them and me to see if we were able to retrieve the phone and if there was anything else he could do to support us throughout those days. Despite every effort, the phone could not be located during their extended stay, and my parents eventually returned to the United States.

Once back in the U.S., my father was able to log in to Find My iPhone and pinpoint the phone’s exact location. Even then, Yasoja continued to go above and beyond. After completing his full shift from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, he personally traveled to the identified building, found the correct apartment, waited until the Uber driver returned home, and successfully recovered the phone — dedicating his personal time from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM to assist us. He is now generously arranging for it to be shipped back to us.

This level of care, professionalism, and personal commitment is the true definition of exceptional customer service. While Uber offered no help, this one individual at Lisboa Pessoa Hotel turned a highly stressful situation into an unforgettable act of kindness. We highly recommend this hotel, and we are forever grateful to Yasoja for his outstanding service and genuine compassion. He is a true example of the very best in...
