Padaria do Povo — Restaurant in Lisbon

Can't speak for the food or drink because when I arrived after 4pm they told me they opened at 5. But the lady offered to pour a drink while I waited. But I declined and came back close to 5. This time there was a gentleman there that told me they don't open until 6. So I asked for a drink but he said not until 6pm. So be aware, the hours aren't posted anywhere and usually no one is in the main dining area either. Also it's a little tricky to find. But look for the sign that says "entrada" just inside the building. Hopefully you'll have better luck. I left to find somewhere else to eat. Edit: To respond to the owner, I would love to. As another reviewer stated, it is very much like you are entering a speakeasy. Do not let this deter you! It is not a fancy place. What it is is a fabulous place to get a quality, delicious meal with genuine, caring and attentive service. Reservations are recommended, but we managed to grab the last 2 not reserved seats and very thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The appetizer clams are the best we've ever eaten, and we've eaten on Cape Cod, Boston, and in Maine! You would never imagine this beautiful place. If you think, you are wrong, go on, you are on the right place. Sitting under the wine, eating the dish of the day, that was perfect. The kids had a big burger, my wife had the best grilled tuna ever and I've got 'bacalhau à brás' as dish of the day. With the sangria and two softdrinks, we paid 45€. Service couldn't speak English, but was so engaged. Thank you for that...
