The people were so friendly. I love how everyone was happy and informative of how you can eat in the restaurant.
I ate a feijoada (because I was missing some Brazilian flavor), and a Seiten with vegetables, I asked a dish (a small mix which allows you to choose between two different dishes in a normal size portion) for me and my partner and we ended up asking for a third one. The flavor of the food was outstanding, a mixture of home cooking and gourmet.
The wine and the juice from the house were perfect, the whine was a friendly (not trying to give you something challenge to taste but enjoyable for a soft cold night) full body red and the juice was made on spot with a mix of fresh fruits that I didn't expect to drink no where else but Brazil.
The deserts were also very delicious, we had a chocolate mousse and a lemon cake covered in chocolate. The cake was a wonder of flavor composed of several layers of nuts, cream and a dough that felt fresh and moist, the chocolate mousse was special, it felt little bit too salty at first but after my palate normalized the flavor, the cacauo just showed itself in a very original way, different from the very full of sugar common mousse.
I'm delighted with the experience and I would regret visiting lisbon again without going...
Read moreAlthough I stopped eating a completely plant-based diet, I still eat at vegan/vegetarian (this restaurant is the latter) establishments quite a bit, and this was one of my favorite vegetarian spots when I lived in Lisbon. No frills, just cheap and delicious meals. The menu is a rotating choice of several different options, and you can mix and match the options or just pick one. Every option comes with some lightly cooked cabbage mix and a plain salad. My only complaint is that the salad would be better with a little dressing, maybe even just some oil and vinegar, but that's not enough to cost them a star. As other reviewers have pointed out, even though the restaurant has "bio" in its name, I don't think the dishes are bio ("organic" in many other parts of the world). That's fine with me, but important to know if you're trying to eat only...
Read moreWe went here on our first night in Lisbon having been recommended it by our hotel receptionist. There's not much choice on the menu but we both had the leek gratin (the English translations on the menu weren't great) which was really tasty. You get a choice of portion size - we had regular and it came with fresh salad, and warm buttery cous cous and was more than enough. We had a carrot cake thing after and it was really light and nice! Price wise it was good value and had we been in the city longer we would have returned. The staff were good - the only reason for a 4 star review and not a 5 star is that that restaurant is very small and the decor was very dated. You wouldn't walk in there if you walked past without knowing the food was good as it looks...
