We stayed at the Estrela, primarily on the recommendations from this site - recommendations very much justified. The Estrela is very well situated in Lisbon, being about twenty minutes' walk from the main city centre, and Anjos metro station a couple of minutes' walk away. The price per night is very reasonable for a capital city (though this does not include breakfast). The rooms are very clean and all have air-con and their own en-suite bathrooms (not as common as you might think!). There is no lift, but the concierge is happy to help with luggage. ||||The concierge was extremely helpful in recommending us several sites of interest, good restaurants in the area, and questions around local travel. Read moreThe location is good, near shops and cafes. Probably most of old hotels in Lisbon are same but the room was freezing. They only have aircon to warm up the room, it also took sometime and it blow directly to the bed, so you can't keep it on while you sleep. They only provide thin blanket, we used extra one but it was not enough...you need to wear warm cloth. They don't provide any water, no facility to make tea or coffee, we can't complain much for the price but we have stayed a lot better 1-2 star hotels in the past. Hotel staff was nice and room was clean. It's ok for...
Read moreWe booked a room for one night just after our flight. The receptionist that welcomed us was the sweetest. We almost never got a welcome that kind. |Unfortunately we don’t remember her name but she was a delight. We were kind of irritated after huge delays on our flight and once we saw her everything went away. |The hotel room was really clean. We had a small balcony which was so cute and amazingly calm. |The hotel is really ideally located. |There’s a lot of grocery stores on the area (fruterias and mini preços). We took our breakfast in the Docel Pastelaria nearby and it was so delicious. The night after we took our diner to go in Zubir Churrasquiera, the best meat we ever had. |To sum up, the staff is the best on earth and the hotel is located in a great area...
