No one speaks English here so I assume it must be really local 😂 very friendly service and local vibe which I appreciate

there may be some mistake in translation because I was given a plate of rice with fries even though my only requirements in my order is anything with some meat as long as there’s NOT any fried food or rice, also I was given bottled water despite having asked for tap water (waste of plastic! 😢). Thankfully in the end someone helped me translate so they gave me a new plate.

In terms of the food the steak unfortunately is quite overcooked maybe a consequence of being spread too thin. Towards the end my brain was genuinely processing that I must be chewing someone’s leathered shoes. It may sound harsh but I truly intend this as a precaution for tourists seeking local cooking on Google map reviews like myself: you’ll have better luck buying food to go from local supermarkets.

Cheap but I’ve had cheaper and better food at more central locations of Lisbon....

Followed Google review (which can be hit and miss) and was pleasantly surprised. Food was excellent local cuisine and quality. Andre and his family only spoke Portuguese- but don't let that put you off! With Google translate and OpenL, you'll master the menu and be in for a treat that is 1/4 of the price set at tourist traps. Descobrimos este restaurante familiar num bairro encantador de Portugal e foi, sem dúvida, um dos melhores momentos da viagem. Desde o primeiro instante, fomos recebidos com uma simpatia genuína que nos fez sentir em casa. O ambiente é acolhedor, cheio de detalhes que refletem o amor pela tradição e pelo bom gosto.

A comida foi espetacular: pratos caseiros com sabor autêntico, preparados com ingredientes frescos e servidos com generosidade.
