I recently had the pleasure of dining at Shree Ram Indian Restaurant in Lisbon, and I must say it was an extraordinary experience. This restaurant truly excels in every aspect, from the mouthwatering authentic Indian cuisine to the exceptional customer service.

First and foremost, the food at Shree Ram is simply divine. As someone who has traveled extensively and tried Indian food in various countries, I can confidently say that the dishes served here are truly authentic and bursting with flavor. The chefs have managed to recreate the taste of India in every single dish, and I was blown away by the quality and taste. It was like a culinary journey through India on my plate.

The customer service at Shree Ram is top-notch. The staff members are friendly, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a memorable dining experience. When my daughter asked us to help organize the catering for her destination wedding in Portugal a mere 5 months before the event, I was understandably a little concerned. None of us had been to Portugal before and didn’t know anyone there. Being a fusion wedding presented additional things we needed to consider while planning the catering.

Shree Ram was one of the vendors we shortlisted. Having no prior experience helping with a wedding, we were initially all over the place with catering. I have to give a lot of credit to Alpa (owner, Shree Ram) for being very patient and continuing to work with us through the initial chaotic period. She was ready to devote time to us and take the ups and downs in stride - even before we had awarded her the contract. In fact that was one of the important reasons for choosing Shree Ram. Alpa built the trust that even though we had never met her and we were thousands of miles away, she would give it her 110% to make the event a success.

Alpa was very flexible on helping us plan a suitable menu for the 3-day wedding. We ended up going for a mix of Indian, Chinese, and Italian across the three days with a variety of street food, comfort food, full course dinners, cocktails, mocktails, appetizers, canapés, open bar. Alpa and Shree Ram took on the catering for the whole range of our needs thus saving us the additional burden of working with multiple vendors. Not only that, she offered to help us with other items not related to catering since Portugal was new to us.

The wedding celebration was full of joy and everyone had a great time. We were very happy when guests would came up without us asking them and compliment the food. Everyone we spoke to at the wedding said we had done a great job with the menu and the food. And all of the credit for all the culinary success goes squarely to Alpa and her team at Shree Ram.

Having worked with her, I would not hesitate to hire her again for any big event for I know she will be able to work with me to make it a success.

My husband and I ate here last night after hearing two recommendations from Indian friends. We loved it! Shree Ram was honestly the best Indian food I have ever eaten out of India and in Lisbon! (I am married to an Indian, lived in India for extended periods of time and travel to India for months at a time every year, so I know what authentic Indian food tastes like and sorely miss it whenever we come back to Europe...!) My saying this is not only due to taste but those who have travelled in India know that Indian authentic food is not just about taste but also about the quantity of food you receive (that plentiful 'Indianess!') Obviously dining in Europe must be more expensive than dining in India generally but moist of the time we can't help but feel even if we dine in 'posh' Indian places in Europe that even if the food is tasty it last that plentiful feeling and quantity that make you feel as though youve really had a GOOD MEAL.

All that is to say...Shree Ram delivered fully on Taste - the food was delicious! Plentiful feeling! The quantities were excellent (we tried the fixed Thali dish and shared it between the two of us - which would have been enough) but we couldn't help ourselves and ordered an extra starter - Pani Puri just because of course! And an extra dessert. The Thali came with three curries, rice, bread, dessert, chutneys, a starter and a drink! The servers were so friendly and obviously completely passionate about their food.

So we congratulate them and wish them every success in Lisbon and highly recommend everyone who loves Indian food or who wants to try great Indian food to give them a try!
