My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this absolute gem in Lisbon by sheer luck. We were out to find the best restaurant to celebrate my boyfriend's 25th birthday. Though this place didn't necessarily have as many reviews, we both had a really good gut feeling and decided to give it a go.

We went in around 8:30 on a Tuesday. There was one other table, but a looming presence of the amiable Portuguese spirit. The interior was clean and beautiful. We both ordered drinks and quickly decided to share the Nachos as a starter before ordering our main courses.

The simple, yet thoughtful ingredients obviously came through when the nachos came out with delicious cheese, sour cream, and peppers (not spicy). We knew we had hit the jackpot just from our appetizer before even receiving our main meal. My boyfriend had the Porcolento- the gregarious owner advised he try it with homemade hot sauce (VERY hot, according to my partner who loves his spice!). I had the roast beef which was, by far, the best meal I have ever had. We both agreed it was the best spot we ate at in Lisbon and in our top 10 restaurants. No joke. We ate at some "fine dining" hubs or overly-tourist brunch spots in Lisbon centre. But nothing compared to the humble, well considered food. The coleslaw that came with both of our meals was a perfect side and my fries/chips were among the best I've ever had. I don't usually eat fries as they tend to go greasy or odd in texture, but these were unbelievable. I could go on and on about the food, but what struck us most was the kindness and warmth from the owner and server. They were attentive and made suggestions but simuntaenously allowed us space to enjoy our food. When we visit Lisbon again, we will definitely be back here. I can't speak highly enough about Restaurante Sucolento. Do yourself a favor and give it a try! Doesn't hurt that two alcoholic drinks, a coffee, a starter and two mains ended up at €34. Thank you for making us fall in love with...

our dining experience at suculento was nothing short of exceptional, marking the highlight of my two-week stay in Portugal. From the warm ambiance to the outstanding cuisine, every aspect of the evening left an indelible impression.

My dining companion and I opted for the Porcolento and the Steak Paris, and we were met with an explosion of flavors that surpassed all expectations. The Porcolento, with its perfect blend of savory and aromatic elements, was a true gastronomic delight. The Steak Paris, cooked to perfection, showcased the chef's mastery in creating a culinary masterpiece. Each bite was a journey through exquisite taste and culinary expertise.

the reasonable pricing adds incredible value to the dining experience. It's a rare find to enjoy such high-quality food (and wine!!) without breaking the bank, making it an excellent choice for both locals and visitors.

The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant provided a perfect backdrop for our evening, and the staff, led by the gracious Tiago, were not only attentive but also genuinely friendly. Their passion for delivering an unforgettable dining experience was evident in every interaction!

In conclusion, if you in search of an extraordinary dining experience in Lisbon, try...

The service by the main waiter was strangely unfriendly. No pleasantry whatsoever to me and my wife, but kept talking to our baby instead. The croquettes are pretty good, but we thought the entrées were just OK. The main dish the place is named after - the pulled pork - was underwhelming. What we thought was really weird is the table next to us asked for some bread, to be told they don't have any. Why doesn't a restaurant have bread? Then they asked if they do wine by the glass, and the waiter just pointed to a chalkboard on the wall, without a word. Again, strangely unfriendly. There were only 3 parties in the place and we were all squashed up into the corner while the whole rest of the restaurant was unoccupied. It made the atmosphere a bit uncomfortable. Other reviews are much more favourable so either we expected too much or it was a bad night. Either way,...

The tuna was overdosed with soy sauce, making it unnecessarily saulty and killing the original taste. Maybe they're trying to be a fusion place, but it tastes terrible. The colesaw from the pulled pork dish is what you eat in the planes on an economy ticket. This is the worst and driest pork Ive ever had. Pulled pork is meant to be soft and juicy. This was dry and hard. And it smelled gamey, which is not normal for pork from Portugal and Spain (I know because I buy and eat pork from both countries) The 5-star reviews must have been written by people who are very low standards of food and very insensitive taste buds. This is not worth the money, and not as good as we expected. Perhaps it suits tourista who love around this location, but it's not for someone who loves food.

During my first visit to Sucolento, I tried the Porco Prato, slow-cooked for an impressive 12 hours. The tenderness of the pork was a pleasant surprise and added to the overall positive experience. Paired with Cogumelos, the dish presented a delightful combination of flavors. My girlfriend opted for the Atum Prato, which maintained the restaurant's high standards with fresh tuna and expert preparation. What stood out was the affordability of the meal, making Sucolento an attractive choice for those looking for quality without a hefty price tag. The restaurant's warm ambiance and attentive staff contributed to a pleasant dining atmosphere. Overall, Sucolento left a positive impression on my first visit, and I look forward to exploring more of their offerings in the future.
