Bocca della Verita — Restaurant in Loulé

Been coming here for over 30 years, but never again. New owners have made this once really good restaurant, nothing more than a joke. Rude staff and chef, tasteless food and terrible atmosphere. Every table was complaining, it took over 2 hours for 2 courses and one round of drinks. Close now and save yourself from further embarrassment !!!! In light of your response and the request for an informed perspective, which I apparently haven’t given. I’ll also now add, which I wasn’t going too, that we were the family you assaulted, because we refused to pay the full amount of the bill. Add to this, the fact you stole my daughter’s bag, until we paid the rest of the amount in full. When we decided to pay the rest, just to get out of your establishment, the lady waitress then decided to start a fight with my daughter. Fortunately, she is a rugby player and gave as good as she got. Anyone not believing of this, we have video evidence.

In response again……. My, my, how articulate is your written response and WOW, how factually incorrect it has been. You believe your own press and your totally inaccurate wording of the situation.

Nobody sat anywhere near us, but amazingly, a very attentive customer, somehow realised, my daughter left her bag under the table, retrieved it and then handed it in to you.

Please, stop embarrassing yourself any further, especially as we were told by a couple, that they witnessed your waiter taking the bag from underneath the table and he had to bend down to retrieve it. As you have such a good memory, this is the same couple you served a meat Lasagne too, when the lady requested a vegetarian Lasagne !!!

I’ll look forward to a formal apology, although we both know, that it won’t be coming, because all you are doing is trying to save face, rather than accept your failings.

I may also post the two video’s we have, of your staff hitting my daughter and the admittance that you took the bag and nobody handed it in. Now I believe, that this is unreasonable and abnormal behaviour, as you so put it. Maybe video will give a fairer reflection of the situation and people can make an informed decision based on these video’s.

As for being banned, please don’t make me laugh, I wouldn’t have returned anyway, but if it gives you some closure and satisfaction, thank you, I accept the ban.

I’m pretty sure your responses, are showing the true light of Bocca Bella Verita under it’s new ownership, what a wonderful advertising campaign this is, to showcase your establishment.

Where do I begin? This is my first google review of a restaurant and I have never felt more compelled to lead people away from a place.

Imagine a reservation at 8:15pm and getting served your starter at 11:30pm….on New Year’s Eve! We didn’t even get bread or water until at least 10pm. We went up to the team many times and they just kept saying things were coming

When the starters arrived, only half of our party got their plate… they didn’t even realize until we told them half an hour later.

I could go on and on about this place but truly it was the worst establishment I’ve ever been to in my life. We will be disputing our charge...

I had the worst imaginable experience here. A group of us came here for New Years Eve, we arrived at 830pm but appetizers were served at 1030pm. We had to leave when only half the group had even been served main course because we wanted to be somewhere else for midnight new years. We kept asking them what’s happening, but they said it’s our fault and also said they ‘already have enough Google reviews so don’t care what we say’. I’m shocked this establishment still exists.
