Set in a block just back from the main harbour, I believe on google reviews Braganca Mar has the 3rd most reviews submitted and you can see why from our visit on a Thursday night in early June. We had to wait about 10-15 minutes for a table, the owner was very polite and there is a bar across the road most of those waiting pop over to get a drink. Once the table was ready he called us over. Laura has the prawn cocktail to start and then for main had the prawn and monkfish and I had the mushrooms to start and then the lamb shank which was slices of very good lamb. Along with this we ordered a bottle of I believe the Terras Do Sadi Rose which we enjoyed so much we had 2 bottles. This was a very enjoyable meal in a lively restaurant with friendly staff. We. Worth visiting but possible check if you need to reserve a table. 27/06/23

One of my favourite restaurants in Vilamoura, having returned many times over the years. There is always a warm welcome from the owner, the staff are friendly, and they look after kids excellently. Tables are available inside & outside. Braganca Mar serves food in the traditional Algarve style, which means that dishes are not elaborate, but are tasty and good value. I always order a whole sea bass or sea bream, grilled in the Algarve style, but they will also serve it off the bone if you’d prefer. Steaks and kebabs are also very popular here. The dessert trolley of homemade desserts is a must-try. A 3 course meal for 4 adults and 1 toddler, including two bottles of wine comes to €180.

The food here is absolutely fantastic. I had the sea bass (pictured), which was cooked to perfection. My girlfriend chose the cod fish Portuguese style which was really tasty. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive. They had run out of the single sea bass potions but I was offered half portion of the large one instead. We ordered the large beers. When they came out we couldn't stop laughing as the beer glasses perched on the table were nearly taller than us seated. I'd say they was about three pints in each! As far as value goes, we felt it was excellent value. We're only here for a week but will definitely be going back once more before we leave.

We were recommended this restaurant and we were not disappointed.

Thr restaurant is in the Old Square behind thr Marina, this busy restaurant, which has a great selection of bars and restaurants. The whole area is full of bustle with a relaxed, but buzzy atmosphere.

The menu choice is fabulous. Something for everyone. The "cover" consists of olives, marinated carrots (surprisingly tasty) and tuna mayo, with an assortment of bread and French toast.

For starters we had sardines (filleted) and sauted garlic mushrooms; both very good. Main we had Monkfish Fisherman Style (cooked in a lovely tomato sauce with Mediterranean veg, clams and prawns) and Sea Bream with prawns.

Sadly no room for dessert off their lovely dessert trolley - announcing it's arrival with a little bell.

Staff were super-efficient, friendly and knowledgeable.

Overall absolutely...

Went 2 times this September (2019). The first time I've ordered Paella. I can safely say that it was the BEST Paella I've ever eaten on my life, and I've been to Valencia, also. They don't leave the entire thing on the table, they put it on an adjacent table and serve you as many times as you would like (until it's over, of course). The second time I've ordered seafood rice, it wasn't the best one I've eaten, but it was really close to it. Again, same service as the Paella, all perfect! The guys and owner that are serving you, are amazing, super handy, and with a great sense of humour. Not to expensive also, especially considering it's Vilamoura. Each one of the dishes for 2 persons is around 30€. Will definitely come back. Best place in Vilamoura by far!!!! Honestly, every other restaurant I've been here is garbage, next...
