We were recommended this restaurant and we were not disappointed.
Thr restaurant is in the Old Square behind thr Marina, this busy restaurant, which has a great selection of bars and restaurants. The whole area is full of bustle with a relaxed, but buzzy atmosphere.
The menu choice is fabulous. Something for everyone. The "cover" consists of olives, marinated carrots (surprisingly tasty) and tuna mayo, with an assortment of bread and French toast.
For starters we had sardines (filleted) and sauted garlic mushrooms; both very good. Main we had Monkfish Fisherman Style (cooked in a lovely tomato sauce with Mediterranean veg, clams and prawns) and Sea Bream with prawns.
Sadly no room for dessert off their lovely dessert trolley - announcing it's arrival with a little bell.
Staff were super-efficient, friendly and knowledgeable.

Read moreWent 2 times this September (2019). The first time I've ordered Paella. I can safely say that it was the BEST Paella I've ever eaten on my life, and I've been to Valencia, also. They don't leave the entire thing on the table, they put it on an adjacent table and serve you as many times as you would like (until it's over, of course). The second time I've ordered seafood rice, it wasn't the best one I've eaten, but it was really close to it. Again, same service as the Paella, all perfect! The guys and owner that are serving you, are amazing, super handy, and with a great sense of humour. Not to expensive also, especially considering it's Vilamoura. Each one of the dishes for 2 persons is around 30€. Will definitely come back. Best place in Vilamoura by far!!!! Honestly, every other restaurant I've been here is garbage, next...
Read moreSet in a block just back from the main harbour, I believe on google reviews Braganca Mar has the 3rd most reviews submitted and you can see why from our visit on a Thursday night in early June.
We had to wait about 10-15 minutes for a table, the owner was very polite and there is a bar across the road most of those waiting pop over to get a drink. Once the table was ready he called us over. Laura has the prawn cocktail to start and then for main had the prawn and monkfish and I had the mushrooms to start and then the lamb shank which was slices of very good lamb. Along with this we ordered a bottle of I believe the Terras Do Sadi Rose which we enjoyed so much we had 2 bottles.
This was a very enjoyable meal in a lively restaurant with friendly staff. We. Worth visiting but possible check if you need to reserve a...
