Not a good experience at all and a definite tourist trap. The food was below average and for the price paid I expected a lot more.
My table had a few starters including the garlic bread with mozzarella and tomato which we thought would be fresh tomato’s and mozzarella on the side to enjoy with it but instead it was melted on in ridiculous amounts. The aubergine starter was also slathered in cheese and would not recommend at all. We had the Italissima pizza and it again had way too much cheese. The il lamporo linguine for €30 was also very disappointing with the prawns over cooked and not much flavour in the dish as a whole. The steak linguine was also disappointing, as the steak was unseasoned and cooked for too long and the portion sizes were also ridiculously large and no one managed more than half their food.
On the positive side, it’s got nice views of the marina if that’s important to you and the waiter we had was very attentive and they took the pizza off the price of the meal as we had complained about the satisfactory dish we were served. But honestly we all left feeling a bit cheated out of our money as the food was not worth even half we paid and that’s not something you want to feel after spending €35 each especially when Portugal has so many other great restaurants for this price.
Not sure why it has so many 5* reviews but i’ve tried to give as complete a review as possible and could honestly go into more detail about the other dishes we had which also weren’t good either but for those that care about where they dine don’t fall for the same trap we did.
Definitely stay clear if you like good food and with the price of the food i couldn’t even tell you that it’s a cheap place for a...
Read moreRight well where do I even begin with this restaurant using my expertise on food and drinks, I have came to a conclusion and that is that this may be one of if not the best Italian restaurants in Villamoura. First of all the Spaghetti carbonara, the pasta was beautiful the bacon pieces luscious and the sauce was not too thick nor too thin. The salmon which my mother had ordered was described as stunning by her, the fish had volume it was succulent the vegetables on the side were on point and the bruschetta for starter was also out of this world. My brother also had the ribeye steak, It was juicy cooked well and the vegetables on the side were also very nice.
The garlic bread which we had as a side was straight to the point. No heavy bread or anything unnecessary, garlic oil and light, airy bread.
Beer was as normal Super Bock as always amazing. The milkshake (vanilla) was very nice and flavourful and had some very strong notes.
The pizza my brother’s friend had was rated very highly, it was the best he ever had. The risotto my brother had-prawn risotto was delicious.
The treats at the end which I would describe as biscuit flapjacks desserts were very nice as a complementary dish!
Highly recommend this restaurant to...
Read moreHello, I usually never leave negative reviews, but I would like to share my experience in the hope that it may help improve certain aspects. We came to dine at your restaurant on a Saturday evening around 9:30 pm. The welcome was friendly and the setting very pleasant. However, we waited about 20 minutes before being able to order a drink and our meals, and we had to ask several times for an ashtray. Afterwards, the wait for the food was around an hour. Unfortunately, the meat I ordered rare arrived overcooked, and the dish was very heavy on garlic, which was not mentioned. This made it difficult to enjoy the meal.
I completely understand that Saturday evenings are very busy, but with such a large team, I believe some aspects of the organization could be improved. That said, I would like to highlight the kindness of the staff and the pleasant atmosphere of the restaurant. With better organization and greater attention to the quality of the dishes, your restaurant could truly become an excellent place to...
