As a designer of these places, I would say the space is cute but could do with a little added light and charm... but is streaks ahead of most others in the town.
We came in for a lunch and were blown away by the professionalism of service and food. It is the first time in my three years in Portugal that it was done right... each of us received a menu (not the usual share one between everyone), we were given time to go through it and when ready we didn’t call anyone. Udam, our waiter, knew just the moment to come over with attentive & friendly soft service. First came the poppadoms with relishes, then our drinks all ready at the same time, and very soon after, the starters. He let us chat and snack and at the exact moment it seemed like we had finished the food and conversation, he took the plates away. Our main dishes including naan all came out within a minute, at the same time and hot. This might seem obvious to many, but it is a rare delight to have this level of care in the customer experience in Portugal.
The food was excellent. Fresh and made with care. Living in Porto, I would come to Nazare just to return to this restaurant.
I am not a big foodie, but I pay the premium of eating out to taste something good that I don’t usually make at home in a space that feels welcoming, cosy or interesting with a level of service that leaves me not feeling like something has been missed, forgotten or ignored. Little India ticked all the boxes. We felt right at home here and really were able to relax and catch up with an excellent meal.
Thank you so much! We will...
Read moreI am absolutely mystified by people who wrote positive reviews of this Indian restaurant.
I eat at a lot of Indian restaurants, and I often cook Indian food at home, so I know what I’m talking about when I review this restaurant.
The quality and taste of the food at this restaurant are far below par. To wit:
The papadums were stale and tasteless, practically inedible. The chutneys accompanying them were astringent and of very poor quality. Our starter, onion bhaji, was fine, but was prepared too fast (showing a lack of care) and served in a way that was below average in its visual appeal (a couple of lettuce leaves and a cucumber slice thrown on the plate.) Our main courses (Dahl Makhani & Saag Paneer) were, overall, tasteless and stale, lacking brightness and any semblance of care and creativity. The rice (with cashews and sultanas) was dry and tasteless.
My final assessment: far below average Indian food, with little concern or care for providing a positive example of the wonderful and amazing depth of Indian cuisine.
Summary: AVOID LITTLE INDIA...

I believe there's always someone special out there that makes something better like homemade mom cooking or something. Also, We had a great conversation very special owner lovely lady and her stuff they customized my order to my preference because I have a digestive disorder and had their lentil soup pureed extra and there gluten free lentil cracker and was absolutely delicious, I'll be honest a tad salty but next time I'll order less salt depends on your preference. Not to mention their chutneys are delicious. Was able to take it to go as I can't eat a lot with no problem. Visa Mastercard and your payment is taken there with no problem as it's hard for tourist here in Nazare. Definitely...
