We visited this place end of June around 2pm. The reason why I mention this is that we are normally not trusting places where we are the only customers. But we still went for it, based on reviews here. Boy we left with a huge smile on our face, only a slightly thinner conto, not sober at all and our belly full. We ate two fish dishes, both beautifully served with lots of veggies & salad. This was the healthiest meal I had during my trip. Additionally we have choosen a bottle of white wine from Douro Valley and received many suggestions from the waiter about the specialities of their kitchen. And let me list the gifts we received: we got a small piece of fish dish with the best extra virgin olive oil as an appetizer to help us decide on what meal to choose. At the end we received two spirits (around 1 cent each): one round of carameled vodka and the other one was a local spirit. Estuvimos cenando dos adultos y un niño por 57,50€. Fuimos por las buenas opiniones y la comida merece mucho la pena, el precio es muy bueno y el camarero era muy amable y atento, aunque hay matices a tener en cuenta.

Lo primero es que entras y es un lugar poco agradable que te invite a quedarte, y menos si hay una larga espera tanto para que el camarero pueda atenderte, monte tu mesa y pida tu comida (y llegue). Todo es muy lento, algo normal en algunas zonas de Portugal. Sin embargo, es la primera vez que vemos a un camarero que no usa una bandeja para traer las bebidas con los vasos y los cubiertos, por ejemplo. Sino que traía un vaso y se iba. Traía otro, y se iba de nuevo. Así hasta que montaba la mesa entera a la que no le faltaba nada, muy completa, pero ahí tenías al único camarero dando vueltas sin parar porque no aprovechaba los desplazamientos. Si hacía eso con cada mesa... A la espera típica de los restaurantes de Portugal ya hay que sumarle está forma tan peculiar de trabajar. En este sentido, tengo que mencionar que hacía por entender tu idioma pero no se enteraba de nada hasta darlo por imposible. Le pedimos cuatro veces que unas patatas fueran hervidas en lugar de fritas, y repetía patatas fritas. Y fritas las trajo. Esa barrera idiomática desapareció cuando pagamos y, al ver que me iba con el cambio, me dijo que la propina no estaba incluida. Me pidió propina y yo sí tuve que entenderle, pero nuestra hija, que tenía dolor de barriga y pidió las patatas hervidas, se tuvo que conformar con las fritas y no comérselas.

Pedimos filetes de pollo que estaban un poco tiesos, un atún con verduras que estaba delicioso y una lubina muy buena también. Los berberechos un poco salados, no eran impresionantes. Y nos tocaron varios con arena y muchas cascaritas pequeñas rotas que no veías y las acababas metiendo en la boca. Podríamos haber echado el plato para atrás, pero no queríamos problemas porque el camarero parecía que no se enteraba de nada y tardaba mucho en venir. Y ojo, que el salón estaba casi vacío. Éramos tres mesas. Pero lo dicho, si no conseguimos unas patatas hervidas, como para explicar que los berberechos eran complicados de comer.

Cuando nos íbamos, llegó una familia y el camarero resopló al ver que entraba gente hasta el punto de que uno de ellos le dijo que si no los podía atender, se iban. Les dijo que se quedaran.

If you want to come to this restaurant be prepared to have your meal in a 100 degree heat inside the restaurant, not air conditioned it’s like eating in a sauna, I don’t understand how people pay for a meal that you can have any other restaurant in Algarve with a air conditioner, the food it’s like any other restaurant nothing special the only thing special in this restaurant it’s that you can eat in a sauna, don’t understand how people can pay money to eat in a sauna, don’t understand why you charge people money to eat on this conditions.
