We stumbled upon this place while walking through town, and it ended up being one of the best dining experiences during our travels across Portugal for two weeks. The handwritten, Portuguese-only menu was a challenge I was okay with and expected during this trip, considering my very rudimentary experience with that language. One of the kind locals offered some food recommendations here and basically insisted we try the piri piri chicken ("frango assado" = "roasted chicken" on the menu). We did, and it was so good! It was perfectly grilled and had tasty, little dollops of garlic cream sauce, which made this version unlike - and better than - the piri piri we had elsewhere in this country. The waiter was fantastic and friendly, stopping to chat with us for a couple minutes as we were leaving (they were about to close for the afternoon, so the place wasn't very busy).
