Restaurante Peixarada — Restaurant in Portimão

We had a bad experience here. The waiters were obviously impatient from the moment we sat down. We were eight persons, and did need a little time to decide what to order. This seemed to annoy the waiter a lot. While we looked at the menu, the waiter put two plates with bread, butter, olives and different appetizers. We did not order this, and the waiter gave no information on the prices for the plates. We did not expect it to be free but the price turned out to be quite expencive. We only touched one of the plates. The bread was very dry, and the other appetizers on the plate did not impress us much. At this point one person in our company started feeling unwell. It was a warm day, and very hot in the restaurant. We decided to leave because of this (without ordering any food) and asked to pay for us. At this point the waiter got very rude and accused us of being bad customers. He said we should have checked the menu in advance and made up different motifs for why we did leave without ordering. We went to this restaurant because there was a long queue on the one next to it which we wants to go inicially but we were not willing to wait . The atmosphere looked nice and they had i saying on the window stating that they could be the not so cheap restaurant but they cared about customer service ! So we decided to enter has we were intrigued by that kind of honesty. The first waiters were ok not amazing but the second one ( the guy with oranged framed specs 🤓) started to yell at us when he wanted to pick up the diches and we said that some of them we were still eating! Super super rude ! The manager shouldn't allow to have this kind of people serving on the table ! The bill was expensive... that we already knew what we didn't know is that they would charge 2.5 euros for sole slices of bread when the restaurant next door was charging 0.75 ! I do not recommend this place specially because of the rude waiter the fish was ok but not worth the 32 eur...

Food was good that's for sure. The squid and the fish soup were delicious. However, I felt the right to ask for explanations when the entry I asked for came in an extremely small amount (amêijoas a bolhão pato). I know the market and its prices good enough and I was displeased by what was served to me and by the explanation of the manager, although friendly, he kept his strick position. The restaurant was completely empty ... If the sea food was fresh there was no need for this kind of "savings"... I ordered a sparkling sangria, as the wine list was not surprising. We were courted by all the restaurants in the same square... perhaps they have a more humble posture. I won't come back...
