Sunshine Restaurante — Restaurant in Portimão

Good little restaurant 5-10 mins walk from the river front amongst a few restaurants. This one says it’s Japanese - I think because it’s very popular for sushi & small plates & great value. I however had the €9.95 hot lunch menu more Chinese style - starter 4 spring rolls lovely crunch pastry & for main beef & onion in oyster sauce with noodle & when I asked for some spicy sauce for the noodles they brought me some. With a can of Coke to drink whole bill was €11.90 & nice & filling. There were several options on this set menu to choose from like sweet & sour, chicken curry & egg fried rice instead of noodles. For the sushi you get a menu & a notepad & you write down the dishes you want to order. Was busy with Portuguese eating sushi there & ordering take aways if locals use it usually a good sign. Small frontage so easy to miss - tables outside & inside so cooler in summer & warmer inside in winter. A few solo diners so not the odd one if you eat alone & many families. There is a choice to use chopsticks or knife & fork. A welcoming restaurant for Japanese cuisine enthusiasts in the heart of Portimão near the waterfront. The restaurant, owned by a lovely family, accommodated our vegetarian preferences by crafting special off-menu dishes for us, a rare and delightful experience. An absolute nightmare. We were double charged by mistake for our dinner. When I came back two days later to claim the money, it was impossible to get any solution. There was a boss, but the boss couldn't be called. Eventually after elevating the tone, the boss was called, which seems to be Portuguese.
