Well, that was unexpected! Loved it.

The view is gorgeous - and frankly we came just for the view but were pleasantly surprised about both the service and food.

Ambience was great, barbecue on the terrace giving amazing appetizing smells as a starter.

Service was friendly, relaxed. Even if a bit slow - it only gave us more time to enjoy the view and take it easy. So we actually enjoyed it.

And food - whilst simple, very delicious. Onion rings and a salad to start with were nice. But the mixed grill, or however it’s called, was a real surprise. Unassuming little eatery. Doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't. Do not expect a "Restaurant". Good food from a charcoal grill that is no more than 5 metres from your table (if you sit upstairs on the terrace). Massive portion sizes. No experimental dishes, just local comfort food. The great view over Porto Moniz attracted us to it. We ordered some simple grilled chicken and a prego (steak on a sandwich). The prego was on a nice rustic bread, massive steak, cheese, ham and sauce. So like a homemade big mac with beef steak. The wine selection is huge and very reasonably priced.
