The octopus was wonderfully prepared…tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection, with herbs and sauce that really highlighted the freshness of the seafood. The fries, though not traditionally Madeiran, added a pleasant crisp contrast, while the tomatoes gave a refreshing acidity to balance the plate. What made it truly special was the feeling that the cook, clearly a local, prepared this as if it were his own childhood favorite dish…simple, heartfelt, and deeply satisfying. A must-try for seafood lovers.

Great ocean view and delicious fish soup — lots of fish and rich tomato flavor. The fried clams were excellent: big portion, fresh herbs, and served with lemon, which was a nice touch. Worth the price — much better and bigger portions than at some pricey spots we’ve tried. Don’t expect too much from the pizza though it was just okay — crispy crust but similar to frozen supermarket ones. Loved the strawberry mousse dessert on sponge — light, tasty, and full of strawberry flavor. Service was average.

Very rude waiters. No "hello", no "enjoy your food ", no "goodbye ". That's why no tips to these people. It almost felt they were all racists!!! I watched them speak to other guests to whom they were more polite. Maybe because they were white?! And I can't say anything good about the food either. But serving food without saying a word was shocking experience to me! Shame on you. Especially the rudest one was a waitress with glasses in her fourties. That one on the picture.

I decided to stop by a place that offers a selection of refreshing drinks, including Nikita, poncha, and sangria. Unfortunately, our experience took a turn for the worse when one of the staff members consistently mispronounced a word, making it challenging for us to convey our order. To compound matters, they gave us peculiar looks and engaged in what seemed like gossip in Portuguese, creating the impression that they were uninterested in serving us. It's important to note that these observations pertain specifically to the staff members working under the "take away" sign, who displayed an unfriendly demeanor. Interacting with them proved to be an unpleasant experience for both myself and my elderly parents. Although we arrived at around 7:30 PM, well before the 8 PM closing time, their attitude and behavior cannot be justified. I strongly caution against visiting this "restaurant" as the staff's demeanor is likely to cause frustration, and the drinks we ordered were poorly concocted, either lacking alcohol or containing negligible amounts. Regrettably, a visit to this establishment will only leave you...

I don’t usually write reviews, but this experience deserves a warning label.

This was, without a doubt, the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in years. I ordered what was described as a “stone-baked artisan pizza” — what I got was a sad, flavorless, frozen pizza that I could’ve bought at a gas station for a fraction of the price. And I’m not exaggerating. It wasn’t just frozen — it was bad frozen. The crust was rubbery, the cheese was bland, and the toppings looked like they had been thawed in a microwave.

The insult? They had the nerve to charge restaurant prices for it. Nearly €15 for what was essentially a soggy cardboard circle with ketchup and processed cheese. At first, I genuinely thought there had been a mistake — surely this couldn’t be what they were serving guests on purpose?

To make things worse, when I politely asked the staff if the pizza was really made in-house, I got a vague shrug and a “that’s how we serve it here.” No apology, no explanation, just pure indifference.

Save your time, money, and taste buds. This place isn’t serving food — it’s serving regret on a plate.

Avoid...

I guess it is a hit or miss. There are a lot of bad reviews, but we have had a very pleasurable experience. All the waiters were amiable, polite and helpful. We ordered mostly seafood, which was fresh and tasty. The restaurant is a product of the location, so you need to adjust your expectations accordingly. If you go on vacation and order pizza, french fries and hamburger, likely you will be disappointed. However if you go for something more local, the experience is totally different.

It is a 4* restaurant but I'm giving 5* to offset the 1*s which this place totally does...
