We had just ordered our drinks and food in the late afternoon and decided to sit outside on a free table. Another customer decided to invite himself to our table, and would not leave even though we said explicitly that we wanted to be on our own. My friend and I felt very uncomfortable having this random guy sitting at our table and who would not listen to us. He was saying that the table did not belong to us and a another bunch of absurd things. The couple sitting next to us, who heard the conversation invited us to sit with them. We told the staff that this customer's behaviour was not acceptable, so a waiter sat down with the customer to talk to him. But after, that he would try to argue with the couple who had invited us at their table. The waiter did not at any time tell him to leave, nor did he find us another table. All four of us (the couple, my friend and I) were very irratated by this guy (who was feeding on people's annoyement) so before leaving I tried to tell the waiter (once again) that the other customer would not stop being aggressive and annoying , and told me "I thought you guys had came up to an agreement". It is the staff's responsability to make sure that all customers feel comfortable, and not the customers who should arrange the situation for themselves, ignoring our complains. If we had positive expectations on the place and the food, we will never go back there, based on the very unprofessional handling of...
Read moreCandelabro is the kind of bar that makes you feel like a local in Porto from the moment you arrive. Tucked away in a charming corner of the city, this spot is where locals gather for good drinks, great conversations, and a laid-back atmosphere. The energy spills out onto the cobbled streets, making it the perfect place to grab a drink and soak in the authentic Porto nightlife.
The wine selection and cocktails are solid, but the real highlight is the atmosphere—warm, welcoming, and effortlessly cool. Whether you’re sitting inside, surrounded by books and vintage decor, or outside, enjoying the city’s pulse, Candelabro delivers an experience, not just a drink.
If you’re looking for a place that feels more Porto than touristy, this is it. A must-visit for a true taste of the city’s vibrant...
Read moreHad two experiences here. The first was nice. Myself and my partner had a pleasant chat with a member of bar staff who served us. The drinks seemed fair in price and the wine was nice. He made sure we found what we liked from giving us tastings of a few different wines. Our second time here we were served by an older member of staff, bald with long beard and leopard print shirt. We ordered our drinks and asked him where the toilets were, he responded rudely to this question. So much so we thought he was joking at first but he doubled down and made us feel stupid for not knowing where the bars bathroom was situated. Uncalled for customer service. This individual dragged down our opinion of the bar and we did not enjoy our second visit, therefore, we...
