There are two kinds of restaurants: Those that make you feel welcome and cared for — and those that simply don’t care whether you came to enjoy your evening or not. Sadly, FLOW falls into the second category.

We came this evening with high hopes. Our previous experience here had been excellent, and we were looking forward to another lovely evening in this beautiful location. Unfortunately, what unfolded was a major disappointment.

We arrived early, at 19:00, full of anticipation. The restaurant was just opened so there was no rush. But from that point on, things went downhill. It took more than an hour to receive our first course, and over two hours for the main courses to arrive — cold.

The delay was so extreme that my daughter-in-law and young grandson, who were with us, had no choice but to leave the table before the main course even arrived. They simply couldn't wait any longer. But no worries — they still charged us for their meals, even though neither of them had the chance to eat a single bite.

When we politely raised our concerns with the duty manager, his astonishing response was along the lines of: “If you want to be independent — don’t disturb me.” That was his version of an apology. Truly unbelievable.

The food that finally did reach the table was so cold it had to be sent back to the kitchen to be reheated. To make things worse, my wife received the wrong dish — not what she had ordered — and had to wait yet again for the correct one to be prepared.

Throughout all of this, the staff, including both the waiter and the manager, offered the same flat and mechanical response: “We’re sorry.” But there was no real care, no effort to remedy the situation, no sense of true hospitality.

At FLOW, it seems, the customer comes second — or not at all.

Despite the beautiful setting and our past positive experience, tonight made it very clear: this is a place to skip. It is no longer the high-quality restaurant it once was — and that’s...

My wife, daughter and I recently dined at Flow Restaurant in Porto to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in from a rainy evening, the atmosphere was inviting, and the setting we hoped for on such a special occasion.

The food was simply outstanding. My wife, a carping critic on all food, ordered the ceviche—and to my surprise, she loved it. She also had the octopus and raved about it. I started with the soft shell crab, which was perfectly crisp with a tinge of Asian influence. My daughter went for mini hamburgers—a bit boring compared to the rest of the menu, but she enjoyed them nonetheless. For her main, she chose the sea bass, which was well-prepared, and beautifully plated. I took Carlos from Argentina’s recommendation and went for the Black Angus steak—and I’m glad I did. It was a fantastic choice. Thank you Carlos!

Beyond the food, the incredible team at Flow truly made the night unforgettable. Well done, whoever hires staff. Lara was an exceptional server—her warmth, attention to detail, and passion for hospitality were evident. I wouldn’t be surprised if she owned her own restaurant one day. She is an exceptional person.

At the front desk, Rodrigo was incredibly accommodating and somehow made me feel completely at ease about having to wait for our table—a rare skill in the hospitality world. Kaio from Mozambique was another standout. He was so kind and attentive throughout the evening, and I truly appreciated his genuine care for us.

Flow Restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way. Whether you're celebrating a milestone or simply looking for a pleasant dining experience in Porto, this is a place I highly recommend. To Lara, Rodrigo, Carlos, and Kaio, I wish you all the best in your pursuits. You made our evening special, and we left with full hearts, full stomachs, and happy...

Picture this: An evening filled with culinary delights amidst striking decor, all orchestrated by an attentive team committed to ensuring you have a memorable dining experience. Does it sound like your kind of evening? If so, Flow Restaurant in Porto is just the ticket. The gastronomic journey we embarked on at Flow was nothing short of fantastic. It began with a tantalizing asparagus starter, setting the tone for the culinary spectacle that was to follow. Next, we were served a mushroom risotto, a sumptuous symphony of fresh and dried porcini mushrooms paired with a rich truffle paste, hints of rosemary, and crunchy hazelnuts. This dish was a love letter to our palates. The culinary crescendo continued with the orecchiette, adorned with a sundried tomato sauce and delicately nestled next to the burratina. The crunchy almonds were the final touch, a textural contrast that made each bite an adventure. The flavors danced on our tongues, each ingredient singing in perfect harmony. And just when we thought the culinary opera was at its finale, the caramel cake entered the stage. Paired with a glass of Porto's finest port wine, it was the sweet encore to our delightful meal. Every morsel was a revelation, every sip a testament to Porto's proud wine heritage. Flow is more than a restaurant; it's an experience. With a compelling menu, visually appealing decor that marries modern aesthetics with comfort, and a team of professionals who treat you like royalty, Flow deserves to be on every food enthusiast's Porto itinerary. If you're seeking a vibrant, delectable, and visually stunning dining journey in Porto, feel free to walk but flow towards Flow Restaurant. An enchanting evening is waiting to embrace you, replete with dishes that will make your taste buds sing in joy. With Flow, your search for an exceptional dining experience in Porto has reached its delightful...

I booked a table for February 12th almost two to three weeks in advance, to spend my girlfriend's birthday. I indicated this at the time of booking and asked for a nice table, since we were traveling from Italy to celebrate her birthday, and when we arrived the treatment was completely disappointing.. The person at the reception didn't even look at us, only one of the waiters spoke to us, at least he was nice, they talked about which table to sit at, and after a few minutes, they sent us to the end of the room, to a table right next to the kitchen, where the chairs were black and faded, the only ones that way, since most of them were wood-colored. Why did they treat us like that? Maybe because we were a couple of women Latinas? I don't know, but it disappointed me. Afterwards, no one came to greet my girlfriend for her birthday or ask me a question about it. I never plan on setting foot in that place again in my life. The food is ok, not what i expected for the price but ok, the place is nice for pictures but is it worth it for how they make you feel?

We tried this trendy (which also means pricey) restaurant on our last day in Porto. We picked it because it was easy to make a reservation online and it had decent reviews. The experience was underwhelming. The décor was nice when we walked in, but the receptionist was kind of snooty and rude (I caught her rolling her eyes at me for trying to put away my jacket). Our server was fine, but the service was nothing special. I'll say the food was good. We had the crab and pastrami egg benedict for the starter, and it was really tasty. Our mains were the "Ossobuco" (shank & butter pumpkin risotto) and the sea bass fillet and asparagus risotto. Both were good. The meat and fish were tender and the risotto was creamy. It's a shame the service was not up to par and the vibe was kind of pretentious and fake. I recommend the food, but not so much the service or the vibe. I'm sure you can find better restaurants with quality food AND quality service in Porto.

What a lovely restaurant! My wife and I regularly enjoy going to Mistu, which is about a 10-minute walk from here. So we were delighted to learn that Flow is managed by the same company, with a very similar menu, it seems. The service at Flow was friendly and professional. The ambience is typical of Porto: gorgeous and romantic. We loved our starters (salmon ceviche, crab, and fish), as well as the sea bream (with underlying risotto.) The pumpkin dessert was glorious. It's also nice that Flow overs a wide range of price points for their wines. (Some fine dining places force you to either pay for expensive wines...or even MORE expensive wines.) There are many restaurants in Porto which have beautiful decor, but a lot of them fail to deliver on the food quality. But Flow (and Mistu) succeed in providing a beautiful, delicious, satisfying dining experience. Muito obrigado to the manager (Chris) and the rest of the staff! We will be back.
