FRENCH FRIES FACTORY — Restaurant in Porto

The best thing first. Friendly personell. Very service oriented, actually Interested in you as their guest & customer. The location is alright, nothing too fancy or special, but definitely clean and sorted. the food we had currywurst literally uncountable times and ofc there's all sorts of variations and taste is subjective. Lets put it this way, the sausage ain't anything special, absolutely relies on the sauce which is so crucial when talking currywurst. And the port-wine sauce wasn't delivering for me as all u could taste was a heavy very upfront wine taste, no seasonings, fruityness or additional flavors which is unfortunate. Didn't help that 2 out of 3 variations of their fries were out of stock, which can always be a bad sign and made us unsure right from the getgo! Last thing, we had a carlic mayo which was absolutely not our thing. It had such a heady overshadowing garlic flavor, but NOT in a good way unfortunately. I love garlic, cooking very garlic heavy. But that taste was not my thing, at all.

In the end i did stop eating like halfway through it and went somewhere else, maybe their way of currywurst ain't my way.

There was no other guests and the room was empty for the whole time I've been there, just like others have...

What a surprise meal!

I have stayed in Porto for two nights and was looking for some food to eat on Google and found that this restaurant was rated 4.9! The responses by the restaurant here on Google were humorous, which made me and my husband really want to have a meal at this restaurant.

I ordered a hot dog with curry sauce and jalapeños as well as curly fries. This was the first time I had had a hot dog with curry sauce and it was a surprise for me! The curry sauce tasted excellent. I think it is the best curry that I have ever tasted. Moreover, it made me realize that a hot dog can go well with curry sauce instead of ketchup and custard! The curly fries tasted good too!

My husband ordered sausage (pork) with the curry sauce, Belgium style French fries and a bottle of fritz-kola. He also said the curry tasted super good!

I highly recommend that you try the curry sauce.

Besides, the staff members were all very nice and friendly to customers. We were given candies after the meal.

Seriously, if I visit Porto again on the future, I must visit French...

I don’t eat many carbs, but when I do, they’ve got to be worth it. And French Fries Factory is totally worth it!

I’d been seeing ads for this place all over my Instagram and today I finally gave in. This isn’t your typical fast food joint. It’s a German Currywurst spot with a Portuguese twist, and the menu is awesome - you get to build your own dish. They’ve got pork, chicken, and veggie sausages, and the ingredients are legit. The parmesan topping is real grated parmesan, not "something resembling parmesan".

But let's talk fries (cuz French Fries Factory). They’re fried twice, which makes them perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. And they come with the skin on - bonus points for that. The service was great too. I showed up 15 minutes before closing, but the staff was super friendly and didn’t rush me at all.
