Learn moreThis place has a fun eclectic vibe with great lighting! The chips and guac were pretty decent, but the beans were severely lacking in flavor. The chicken wings were solid (which ironically is probably the least Mexican dish on the menu). The chicken, al pastor, and shrimp tacos all lacked flavor- but they tried to make up for it by adding a lot of cheese to everything. I’m a massive cheese fan, but I also recognize when it’s used to hide or make up for good flavor. The churro was buried in a 3” mound of whipped cream and ice cream but was pretty tasty! Their mojito was fantastic but the margaritas were served in a martini style glass. Maybe I’m weird, but I’m used to margs on the rocks. Their service was also disappointing. The waiter kept pushing different dishes on me than I asked for. For example, I asked for the chicken and al pastor tacos and the waiter recommended the quesadillas instead…? Felt kinda like cheese is their bailout for everything. The waiter also insulted the Mexican Spanish slang I used such as “porfa” and “simón.” As a Mexican American, I was sadly disappointed by this place. I’m a self-professed Mexican food snob and I should have kept my...
Read moreThe prices are absolutely insane!!! Please, before reading, keep in mind that the prices are daylight robbery, not even joking. 3/5 stars because relation price/quality is terrible.
12 euros for 2 Tacos of Carne Assada, and bare in mind, they are smaller than Taco Bell tacos for reference. You will have to eat 4 of anything, meaning it will cost 20€+ AND YOU WILL NOT BE FULL. A Coca-Cola is 3.50€.
After this big disclaimer, I can say that everything is very tasty, nice and strong flavours, you will enjoy it. The nachos come with a lot of minced meat and they taste great. The nachos look like they are made at that place and not just from store bought bags.
For mexican food like this, it is not worth it. Comparing to a similarly priced restaurant, Chilli's Tex Mex, this one doesn't have the menu depth, not many options at all and in the end you eat so little for the price. I wouldn't come here. 25eur minimum per person in Porto is suposed to be a different type of experience.
The staff is good, polite and professional. The ambience is better than the...
Read moreDisappointing Mexican in Porto- We were eager to try this restaurant based on its positive reviews and the promise of authentic Mexican cuisine. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations. The food lacked freshness and flavor. The guacamole, came from a container, a disappointing choice in a city with access to fresh avocados readily available. The shrimp tacos were bland and clearly frozen, again no excuse for fresh seafood in this city and the burrito was similarly underwhelming. The only highlight was the side of potatoes, which were well-cooked and flavorful. We expressed our disappointment to the server (bc he asked) particularly regarding the shrimp tacos, which we barely touched. However, he became defensive and seemed offended by our constructive criticism. While authentic Mexican options are limited in Porto, we honestly believe Taco Bell would offer a more satisfying experience, albeit at a lower price point. We won't...
