MILLE PINSA TRATTORIA ROMANA PORTO - Italian ristorante in Porto, Portugal
Reception from members (Accueil FR) : -Very good, we were next to the door and immediately there was a server who welcome us and found us a table for 2 -The server tried to speak in english, we love the effort -We order gluten-free pizza but 10min later the waiter told us that they don't make anymore gluten-free dishes so we have to pick a salad... what ? In your menu card, there's an information about gluten-free for +3 EUROS...
Price (Prix) : -For the quality, I think it was a bit expensive. I explained myself by some things : the ingredients were like it's kind of cheap... I love italian food and I travelled around the world to taste it and it was quite bad. For example, in my lasagna... it was too dry. It seems like it missed up some creamy sauce and tomatoe sauce too. (You can see it in my picture) I was quite surprising and disappointing because in Google, there was a really good notation...
Time (Temps) : -Not too long, it was very fast. I think it was between 5 and 6 min to wait and being serve.
Place (Le lieu/envrionnement) : -Good view and italian atmosphere, there was a canddle maybe for the Valentine's day soon?
Dishes : -Lasagna tradition : too dry, missed beschemelle sauce and tomatoe sauce between the layer but good looking and presentation
-Salmon carpaccio : Ok, it was simple but the fish isn't fresh right ? It was like without any taste... but also a good presentation and decoration in the dish
Commentary : Unfortunately, I was disappointing of the misinformation about the gluten-free dishes. We come from France and to know, that's unacceptable from a ristorante. You have to know what do you serve and to update your dishes card if it's not available... About the dishes, I also try a lot italian ristorante and that's the first one who missed up the lasagna ! It's my favorite dish... and that's very sad. Someone in the ristorante came to us and said that they were sorry for the gluten-free. It's okay and then ? Nothing. The price was excessive for what they served and the service.
I don't recommand this establishment but you can also try to make your own review...
Read moreOur troubles began immediately when we attempted to order. We were informed that both the Spaghetti Bolognese and the Shrimp Risotto were unavailable. This was disappointing as these were our initial choices, and ultimately meant that 3 out of the 4 members of our party could not order what they preferred. In hindsight, we should have left at this point, but we decided to stay and settled for two orders of penne pasta and one pizza with tomato, mozzarella, and eggplant. One of us decided not to have a full meal since the risotto was not available.
Shortly after our drinks were served, we unfortunately overheard the staff informing the next table that credit cards were not being accepted that evening. This caused us considerable panic as we did not have sufficient cash on hand to cover the cost of our meal. We briefly considered paying for our drinks and leaving, but having already placed our food order, I made the decision to search for a nearby ATM.
I spent approximately 20 minutes getting cash from an ATM while our party waited at the restaurant for our food. Upon my return with cash, to my dismay, the pizza that had been served was incorrect; it was not the tomato, mozzarella, and eggplant pizza we had ordered. My husband decided against mentioning this to the waitstaff, as we had already encountered numerous issues and wanted to avoid further complications.
Furthermore, we were incorrectly served three orders of pasta instead of the two we had requested. We had to insist that the additional dish be taken back.
Finally, upon paying our bill in cash, we received change that was 10 EUR short.
I am utterly astounded that a restaurant with a 4.4-star rating on Google could exhibit such a complete failure in service and operational efficiency at every stage of our dinner. Our experience was nothing short...
Read moreI have never left a Google review in my life and I need to alert all tourists that this place is a trap. If you have a dairy allergy or are vegan, DO NOT COME HERE. It appears that this restaurant has been scheming their customers for MONTHS if not years! I have a dairy allergy and ordered a pizza with vegan cheese- as someone who has had MANY types of vegan cheese and plant based products, I obviously was able to tell that the "vegan" cheese was actually not vegan at all. Upon receiving the pizza (which looked practically identical to the "regular" pizza my boyfriend ordered), I asked the waiter 5 times if the cheese was actually vegan and expressed again that I have an allergy. After the waiter told me countless times "I promise this is vegan", I took 2 bites of the pizza. That moment confirmed even more that this cheese was absolutely not dairy free. I then walked up to the kitchen area and asked to speak to the chef directly. As soon as I talked to the chef and asked if the pizza was vegan, he said "no we do not have vegan cheese" and shrugged it off as if ew why would we have that. I then said, "well I have an allergy to regular cheese" and he instantly realized that this was serious as I already took 2 bites. He proceeded to make me another pizza with NO cheese instead and discounted our meal.... I barely ate anything after that, got extremely sick and left my cheese-less pizza in the dust. NEVER COME HERE! I honestly wouldn't trust the GF crust either... I read a few reviewers buried in here about celiac people having allergic reactions to the pizza. They are probably lying to get tourists with allergies in the restaurant. I genuinely hope this place gets shut...
