Newly renovated, this is one of the trendiest streets in the city. Restaurants, traditional shops and historic buildings make Rua das Flores a must see for anyone who wants to get to know the true spirit of the city. It was in the time of D. Manuel that Rua das Flores appeared in 1521. One of the reasons for its name may be because it had many gardens, and so Rua de Santa Catarina das Flores was created. The objective was to connect the Largo de S. Domingos and the Porta de Carros, a door of the Fernandina (from the reign of D. Fernando) wall located at the top of Almeida Garrett Square. In the following years some aristocrats of the city settled there. The houses, marked with coats of arms and decorated with beautiful balconies, still exist today and constitute beautiful examples of the civil architecture of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Also worthy of mention is the Misericórdia Church, by Nicolau Nasoni, which has one of the most emblematic baroque...

Rua das Flores, or "Flower Street," is a charming pedestrian street in the heart of Porto, Portugal. It's lined with colorful buildings, chic cafes, trendy boutiques, and historic landmarks. Strolling down Rua das Flores is like stepping back in time. The street's name comes from the lush flower gardens that once adorned the houses here. Today, the flowers are gone, but the beauty remains. You can admire the intricate tilework on the buildings, browse the unique shops, or simply relax at a cafe and soak up the atmosphere.

One of the highlights of Rua das Flores is the Igreja da Misericórdia, a beautiful church with a stunning interior. You can also visit the Museu da Misericórdia do Porto, which houses a collection of religious art.

Whether you're looking for a shopping spree, a cultural experience, or just a relaxing stroll, Rua das Flores is the perfect place to spend an...

This is a nice walking street in Port. It starts at the Sao Bento station, which is also worth a look with the nice blue tile interiour. There are countless restaurants and cafés along the way. Many of the great to watch the world go by. Some chain stores, some independent ones. It's a fun walk. It goes down to the Largo São Domingos, a pretty nice and busy square. But despite being a nice walk, there isn't really much to do or see. Even though busier, I felt that the Rua Santa Catarina offered more interesting shops and more sights. This street here is ok if you got some extra time on your hands. But I wouldn't call it a must-do.
