Have in consideration the prices and the location I would categorize this as a classic tourist trap. We give it a try mostly because of the chef behind this project but it was a total disaster. The service is unprofessional, we arrived to the place and we were waiting politely before picking a table to ask to the waitress and I was ignore for a longe time while they were finished someone elseās orders without even a āhelloā or a ājust a minuteā. Then, they seat first and took the orders of the couple that arrived after us. We asked for a double expresso and we got a regular one instead and it was served ages before the food arrived. The strawberry juice was discussing, Iāll not recommend that. The huevos rancheros were the worst ones of my life. The beans werenāt cooked, the lack of flavour was disappointing. How huevos rancheros can be tasteless? Oh well, they for sure know the secret. Iāll not even mentioned that they were a weird interpretation far from the original mexican ones. In the end, only the bread was interesting but not enough to be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf youāre looking for the absolute definitive best bakery pastries in Porto, Ogi by Euskalduna is simply unbeatable. Every product feels like a piece of edible art. The sourdough bread is perfection, the focaccia is beautifully airy yet crisp, and the chouquettes are dangerously addictive. Donāt even get me started on the real CINNAMON roll (yes, all caps, because it deserves the spotlight!), pure, buttery layers with real strong cinnamon that melts in your mouth.
I actually dreamt about the kouign-amann after trying it. Thatās how memorable it is. I genuinely want to go every single day during my stay in Porto to try everything the chef has to offer. Iāve heard whispers of Michelin recognition, and honestly, it wouldnāt surprise me at all. He is a good singer too ;)
The world of bakery has so much to learn from this place. If more bakeries followed Ogiās standard, weād all be living happier, more delicious lives. Please donāt miss it.
And a personal message to the owner: the extra oregano focaccia was delicious...

I paid ā¬4.70 for both, which I think is totally fair considering the quality.
Iām not entirely sure what kind of clientele theyāre aiming for, because as soon as I walked in, the man started speaking to me in English ā but, I think the options were only in Portuguese. I was still a bit asleep, so I just pointed at what I wanted. Not a problem at all, just something I noticed and wanted to mention.
Great price, great service, and outstanding quality. Apparently, they also have a Michelin-starred restaurant right next door, so these people clearly know what theyāre doing.
Being from the Basque Country myself, I honestly only came because of the name ā so, eskerrik...
