During my recent visit to Combi, I decided to kickstart my morning with their acai bowl and a latte. The experience, in a nutshell, was absolutely delightful.
The acai bowl at Combi exceeded my expectations with its freshness and vibrant flavors. The acai itself had a rich and satisfying taste, perfectly complemented by the medley of fresh fruits and the delightful crunch of granola toppings. It was an invigorating and fulfilling breakfast choice that left me feeling completely satisfied.
The staff members at Combi were a true delight. From the moment I walked in, they greeted me warmly with smiles and provided exceptional service throughout my visit. Their attentiveness and helpfulness added a genuine touch to the overall positive experience.
Though I didn't have an extensive encounter with their latte, I can confidently say it was a well-crafted and enjoyable beverage. The combination of smooth and velvety espresso with steamed milk resulted in a balanced and flavorful drink. However, the true highlight of my visit undoubtedly resided in the incredible acai bowl.
Combi's ambiance contributed to the overall charm of the establishment. The cozy and inviting atmosphere created an ideal environment to savor a relaxed breakfast. The tasteful decor and thoughtfully arranged seating arrangements enhanced the overall dining experience.
To sum it up, if you're in search of a fresh and delicious breakfast option, I wholeheartedly recommend trying Combi's acai bowl. The friendly demeanor of the staff and the cozy ambiance make it an excellent choice to kickstart your day on a...
Read moreIf it weren’t for the price, this might’ve been the best coffee I’ve had in Porto.
The staff was friendly — no complaints at all — and while the coffee took a bit to arrive, it’s understandable given the business of the place. The café gives off a very international vibe, which seems to be its main focus group.
The space itself is beautifully maintained, with a clean and modern look, and it’s noticeably more spacious than most coffee spots I’ve visited in the city. We ordered a large latte and a cappuccino, and while they were good-sized, they weren’t huge — probably around 250–300 ml tops. The total came to about €9, which isn’t cheap.
That said, the quality and preparation were solid. I’m not saying it fully lives up to the hype, but compared to many other places in the city centre, at least here you get a well-made coffee.
Still, I can’t help but feel a bit disillusioned by how many spots in central Porto — especially on the main touristy streets — rack up a huge number of reviews and high ratings that don’t always match the experience/reality.
For me, this is a clear 4 out of 5 — mainly because of the pricing. I would’ve liked to try one of their sweet options or even breakfast, but the cost held me back. Maybe that’s just the reality of specialty coffee in Porto these days, but I’m just trying to...
Read moreGreat quality coffee and super skilled baristas, my wife had a flat white and it was perfect in terms of proportions, temperature, and milk texture. It's evident that the staff are passionate about their craft. They offer various brewing methods and use high-quality, specifically roasted beans, which used to be, in my opinion, rare to find in Europe where everything tends to be espresso-centric. Overall, everything was excellent. The atmosphere was also great.
However, I was taken aback when I reached the end of the transaction. The bill included a suggested tip of 1, 2, or 3 euros, representing 13%, 26%, or 40% of the 7,50 bill that I was about to pay at the counter. I felt like I was in the USA, and frankly, I found it ridiculous. The concept of a 'suggested tip' at the payment terminal made me uncomfortable, especially considering the percentage it represented on my relatively modest bill. You can call me cheap, but it felt unnecessary and even intrusive. Despite this, I enjoyed the café experience itself and would highly...
