Stopped in for a semi late lunch on a Monday at around 2 pm. Maybe that's the normal lunch hour around here because there were a good amount of people still dining/coming in around that time. I randomly found this spot because I saw it on Google Maps and it was right by the hotel we were staying at. It had great reviews so we decided to come check it out. We sat at the rooftop, which is kind of enclosed but luckily it wasn't too cold anyway. It had a nice chill vibe.

For drinks, I had the green wine. I wasn't really sure what that was but decided to try it. It's kind of like a white wine, which I don't even normally like. But this green wine was very good. It was light, crisp, and refreshing. Hubby had come kind of spicy chili cocktail, which was interesting because it had a kick to it. He enjoyed it.

Their most popular sandwich seems to be the pernil with sheep's head cheese and I can see why. The 4 stars here are really just for this sandwich and the drinks. The pork is tender and the cheese is perfectly melty. It's also the perfect sized sandwich if you're not that hungry and don't want something massive, but want more than just a little snack. You definitely need to eat this fresh while you're there though. We got one to go on a separate day to bring back to the hotel and the meat was a little dried out, and the bread was soggy. The cheese was still good though. Hubby had the Guedes Francesinha (house bread, roasted pork, egg, mortadella, chorizo, fresh sausage, ham, gouda cheese, and special sauce). This was our first time trying a francesinha. Looking at photos online, we already knew it would be too heavy, and it was. I also don't like my sandwiches covered in sauce because I hate soggy bread. But still, we wanted to try one since we were just visiting Portugal. This came with a pretty big plate of fries. We almost ordered a side of aioli to go with the fries but our waiter suggested against it because the francesinha already comes with a bunch of sauce and it would be too heavy. Glad we listened to him. The fries were kind of soggy, matching the theme of the heavy sandwich.

Overall, I would say stick to the simple dishes (like the roasted pork and sheep's cheese) and maybe a few tapas and drinks and you'll have a...

First restaurant I visited in Porto after I saw it recommended on a YouTube video. There was a line, but wasn’t too long, and it moved quickly, but got targeted by a guy wanting me to give him money. When I got to the counter, the lady greeted me in Portuguese. My Portuguese is very limited, but I tried a few words and didn’t do a good job at it. After that, the girl’s attitude totally changed. She spoke to me in English, but very quickly. I didn’t understand how the process worked, and she got loud and rude while correcting me.

I ordered the pork and sheep cheese sandwich with carmelized onion, and a chicken and cheese coxinha. The sandwich was good, but kind of basic, and the bread was too crumbly and pretty much shattered while I was eating it. The coxinha was not hot and was mediocre. The rest of the staff seemed very friendly. I did see the girl treating the friendly staff like dirt, too, and saw one of them roll their eyes, so maybe she’s just rude, in general. Overall, the food was decent to good, but the rude girl blew it for me. I’m from a very popular vacation location. I get tourists can be annoying, but I wasn’t rude. I am a very respectful traveler, and I know rude tourists suck, but to bark at me the way she did was...

Awful experience. Went once before and food was average. Thought about giving it another try. Even worse.

Waited 20 mins for a table and seated by the bathroom. If you saw us - well- dressed surely for this place - you’d never want us to sit there. And then 1 min later this guy brought a “complimentary” fish cake to us. Col and fishy tasting, we took one bite and left the rest. Asked two different people with headsets to get our server to order drinks. Never came. After waiting 20 more minutes without getting a server, we started to leave and THEN this little guy comes over and says we owed $5 euros for that cold, fishy croquets!! So we couldn’t get a server for a long time but then one tracks us down to charge us for that?? I said We didn’t eat it, couldn’t get service and to call a manager. And he kept asking for 5 euros! Crazy! Where were you. I walked To the front and the manager - who glared like he was someone - said I needed To pay and I said No! I left And he kept glaring at me like he was a real businessman instead of a thug.

Never again! And btw - how is chicken and mashed potatoes or shrimp risotto remotely Portuguese? Nope. Tell...

Since I moved to Portugal, it has been my dream to try chorizo cooked over fire. And it just so happened that during this trip to Porto, when I remembered about it, we were right next to a place with a good rating and lots of reviews. The chorizo turned out just as I imagined — first a little fire show, and then juicy chorizo with cold beer — everything you need to enjoy the last sunny days. But be careful: if it’s windy outside, you’ll get a dose of fear along with your dish when the flames start blowing in your direction.
