Friendly, characterful corner bar with a welcome for everyone. Just outside the central area of Porto on the way to Bonfim. We arrived at our accommodation after midnight and set out for a late beer. Spotted this place from afar and was like a dream come true! We felt like locals in an instant. Liked the place so much we ended up having a late drink here most nights of our stay. Seems like a popular hangout for hipsters young and old, families, savvy tourists and locals of all ages. Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat here but looked good and obviously popular. We ordered an omelet, sausage and two beers, which we received after an hour... and got charged for two menu's.
When I addressed the mistake on the bill, they told me that the fries and two slices of tomato were an indication that it was a menu, who doesn't know that(?!) and therefore I should have asked for the soup, bread, coffee, etc., "like all Portugese people do" (after getting the "main" dish lol).
When I told them that you can't charge a menu that I haven't ordered neither received, the kitchen lady started yelling at me. Which was kind of...

In a city such as Porto, where service is generally below what you would expect, this place really takes the biscuit for what seems like deliberately rude service by the manager who is grumpy and unwelcoming and seems to enjoy being an ignorant brute. He barked at me for asking for a coffee after my meal as he was by then having his own lunch - the service outside had suddenly and mysteriously disappeared and I had to go inside to ask for the coffee.
