Very big portions I wasn't expecting to get ahaha First of all the entries are no good, lacks variety. Simple but would not say it was that tasty and definitely does not worth the price. The hamburgers are normal sized but the amount of French fries that comes with it is considerable(btw the fries are delicious and crusty but were too salty for me). As for the burger I got to taste a vegetarian one with patty made of lentils and beans, but it wasn't holding the shape as the consistency was more of a paté rather than a solid patty. Inside there was also a cheese, more like a cream one and not just a slice which I consider a good sign of quality of products, but personally not a fan. The buns are regular ones, nothing special, taste like a normal fresh bread from market. And my order came looking very delicious because of the presentation. However, other orders didn't came as good as mine, all plates were different, many of them didn't match the "burger style". Overall, the place is worth visiting, nice interior, good prices and "burger of the day" offers. Btw it would make so much more sense to be able to switch the patty for the vegetarian option in burger of the day, I don't really see what's the problem with that. And it would be really nice to have some vegan options for the sauce or cheese to make some options...
Read moreBest burgers in Porto, don’t go anywhere else. Outstanding burgers made with Portuguese ingredients/influences.
We arrived for lunch on a Saturday and were seated right away on the shaded back patio. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, especially the hostess.
We had the Hamburger Real & the O Chaparro, two beers, and two still waters, and the total was around €35; extremely reasonable prices for the quality of food and the huge portions. The burgers were cooked perfectly (medium) and our food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. The O Chaparro was outstanding. I’ve never had Serpa cheese prior to this meal, but it’s now one of my favorites. It’s slightly pungent/funky and pairs really well with the beef and egg.
I’m generally not that into fries/chips, but the fries here might be the best I’ve ever had. They do something different to them that makes them light and perfectly fried, but without being greasy. The burgers are served with what seems like two pounds of them and I could’ve eaten them all.
There’s really nothing that we didn’t enjoy about this place, even the restrooms were immaculately clean and, somehow, smelled...
Read moreHave been three times now and find that they serve the best burgers I've ever had. Run by a young crew. Someone generally speaks English but I cannot vouch for other languages. Some combinations available that seem a bit... adventurous? for staid British palates but excellent non the less. Try the burger in a cheese sauce; however I've so far declined the one with tripe (tripeiro) despite this being Porto's signature along with sardines. Excellent veggie burgers as well. Good range of craft beers. I would visit more often if my wife would let me. Be advised, if you want a table mid-late evening you will have to wait - often queuing down the street especially at weekend. My only niggle is that the odd design wooden chairs can be damn uncomfortable. Some seating available outside at the rear but overlooked by nearby apartment block. Friendly...
